I was playing with it last night & it seemed to be fine! I am going to see wht happens when I go outside & take a few pics. I only had it for a week! I love this lens...I was so excited when I got it!
If it is SDM failure, why would this happen? How much would it cost to fix?
Thanks for your replies!

I just bought a used Pentax 50-135 2.8 lens from another photographer....I love this lens! But today during a photoshoot outside, it was not focusing. I had to switch lenses! Why would it so this? Is there a setting in my k-7 that I should set it too? I was so ticked off...ugh! I was not to close to my subject & when I would switch it to manual focus, it still wouldn't focus! Please HELP!!

Thank you!

Hi Y'all, I hope I am posting this in the right thread! I purchased a matech digital lux meter about a year or so ago. I could not figure it for the life of me. I moves on to some other things & forgot about it. Well, I have been hearing more that light meters should be used.I never used mine, b/c I can not figure the darn thing out!

Does anyone know how to use it & what do these numbers mean? Am I missing something here? Please forgive for posting a dumb question!

Thank you :)

I did remove the batteries as well as the memory cards. I also put new batteries & memory card in too.No luck! I waited for a few days & still nothing!

Should I get it fixed? Is it worth it?

I mainly shoot with my k-7, so I only use the ist DL for my second shooter & my daugters' use it around the house to take pics & my daugh that assist me. Not sure what to do.
Thanks for y'all input!!

Hello! I haven't used this camera in a long while..but when I got set up for my second shooter to use it a session with me,it took pictures, but nothing comes up on the LCD screen. I can not set any of the settings at all. I changes memory cards, replaced batteries, changed lens & shut off (for a few minutes) then back on! Nothing! What is the problem?

Thank God I have my k-7, but the istD is my back up! Is it worth getting fixed or should I just buy another back up?

Thanks in advance :0 Debra

I appreciate all of your advice on this. I will check out the link!

I have been researching on some lenses & hopefully will find the right lens to use. I have shot weddings before, but not in a church.I have an external flash & I do know how to use it...but my concern was low light situations. I want to take some captures w/out flash.

I thought about renting a lens...& that may still be an option! I have a zoom lens already 70-300 f3.5..that will be on my backup camera. I will let you know what I come up with..I know I have a few months..but just want to get my gear in order so I ma not overwhelmed!! Thanks again y'all:)

Thank you so much for your help & advice! I have shot pics in a church before with a 50 mm 3.5 & they were pretty good, however with being paid, I want to make sure I have the best lens that will do the best in low light:) I do have a spare body that I will use in addition & also I will be having a second shooter to help me. I am pretty excited about this!!! Thank y'all again!!!

I am playing around with it..and yes I have a kit lens & also 3 other lenses as well! It did come with the stepping rings (I did have some already) This fisheye has a macro lens that is detachable & when I use it on my lens, it is all blur...will not focus at all! Not sure what is up with that! I appreciate all of your help. I definitely will be playing with it. If you know anything about the detachable macro, please let me know!

Thanks again guys!

Thank you for your reply..I meant to say mode! On my istD it does have a macro mode. I used it all the time! I figured as much that I would need to adjust the settings and/or use a lens. Like I said before, I am still getting use to this camera. I appreciate your help:) Thanks again!!!
