Thanks for sharing your experiences. It answered a lot of questions that I had for K-3's AF. I'll likely get one soon. =)

DA* 16-50mm: is mine a duff copy or par for the course?

I had a secondhand copy of a DA* 16-50mm some time ago and it wasn't this soft at F4 (or even F2.8). Maybe you should try the brick wall shot again with Live View, so that you can be sure that its not because of any front/back focus issues.

Get the 77mm and the 35mmF2.4 :) Together with your 50mm, you'll have a pretty decent prime kit.

I use the standard B+W filters on the DA15 and they work great. No issues with the built-in hood.

** ONE ** lens for indoors. Help...

Since you already have the DA35 and the DA70 and you're more concerned with speed than focal length, my suggestion is the Sigma 50/1.4.

Personally, I think the Sigma is a little big and 50mm is a little long for indoors. But it is a very nice lens.

If you like the focal length of your 18-55, then I suggest you go for the DA* 16-50. If you prefer a slightly longer focal length for your portrait work, then go for the DA* 50-135.

Personally, I prefer a set of primes. But if you're only going to get 1 lens, then make it a DA* zoom.

Sounds like the DA 21 (or the DA 35 macro) will fit you best.
Then pair it up with the DA70.

da 35 2,4 vs sigma 30 1,4. what to get?

I sold off my Sigma 30/1.4 due to its size and weight. Its not as big as the Sigma 50/1.4, but I preferred a kit. Optically, it was great. Very sharp lens with a 1.4 aperture.

I did something similar too. Sold the Sigma 10-20 F3.5 for the DA15, mainly due to the size and bulk of the Sigma. Now the DA15 is almost always with me. No regrets.
