The large shadow at bottom center looks like a soldier holding a scoped sniper rifle... :D

Thanks! This K10D is my first DSLR (or SLR for that matter). I've had a few pure digital cameras, but they all left me wanting more... and now I feel like I have something I can really grow and learn more with...

Okay... maybe this will help...

My wife and daughter and I went to Florida over the 4th of July holiday and I took my camera along for some good photo opps... and because we are trying to take photos at the beach every year of my daughter and my brother-in-law's son. Some of these came out a little grainy, and I'm not sure why... I had a circular polarizer on the kit lens the whole time we were there, so I'm not sure if that had anything to do with it or not.... but hopefully if I can get these embedded in the post I'll get more feedback...

This was the sunset at the beach in Seaside, Florida (the location of the filming of the Jim Carrey movie, "The Truman Show")...

These were two of many that were hanging out at the seafood market fishing for minnows...

The mass exodus from Destin harbor the morning of our fishing trip...

The pathway to Heaven... :D

Sunrise over the Wharf at Destin harbor...

Another sunrise shot from Destin harbor...

B&W of the dune rebuilding effort after Hurricane Ivan in Navarre Beach...

B&W of the clouds moving in over the beach in Navarre Beach...

K10D and deep sea fishing...

I'm about to go on a deep sea fishing excursion this Friday, and I'm sure I will be taking my K10D with me. I was wondering if there were any precautions needed to take with it seeing as though I'll be around salt water and there is a lot of salt in the air. Or can I just wipe everything down real well when I get back and not worry about it? :D

Thanks!

We haven't had much rain at all... send some of it our way! We've had an intermittent storm here and there, but for the most part I haven't had to even cut the grass much this summer. I put up some pics in the Photo section! Check them out when you get the chance if you haven't already!

I just received my new K10D and first ever DSLR (or SLR for that matter) yesterday and got a little trigger-happy when I got home from work yesterday. Here is a small sampling of some of the pics I took... mostly of my 14-month old daughter... :D

Hey everybody! I bought my first DSLR this week and it just happens to be a K10D. I had originally planned on a Canon Rebel XTi, however, my big hands and the small plastic body didn't do too well for me. A fellow photographer friend of mine and I went to a local store and I "tried on" a few including the EOS 30D and the Nikon D80. My dad still has an old Pentax MX and up until the point of going to the local store, Pentax had actually never entered my mind.

Let me just say that after picking one up for the first time I was sold... the feel was unlike any other camera that I looked at. And after reading some reviews and comparing some shots, I ordered it that afternoon. I have had it since yesterday and I've already taken over 100 shots with it, mostly all of my 14-month old. I am REALLY REALLY REALLY impressed with this camera.

I am very much an amateur and have a lot to learn... so I hope to be around quite a bit! I'll post a few of my first photos over in the photo gallery for your viewing pleasure... hopefully... :D
