Congratulations. I have both the Spotmatic and an SV and use them both. I have a couple of Auto-Takumar lenses I use on the SV which makes it "feel" a bit different to the Spottie, but I'll admit to liking them both.

Kershaw Raven (c. 1947) on Kodak Ektar. Cropped to a panoramic format (mainly because the image looks better, but partly to get rid of a light leak!). Oxburgh Hall par Kris Lockyear, on ipernity

Custom Bellows made a lovely replacement for my Kershaw Raven, highly recommended.

Sorry to revive an old thread...
I've just been gifted a K1000. Is has the AOCO logo on the pentaprism, no "bump", and the serial number is 8305124 stamped on the base plate. On the back it just says "Asahi Opt. Co." Am I right this is a Hong Kong manufactured example? It feels pretty solid.
Thanks, Kris.

I collect cameras to use. I dislike having non-functional cameras and tend to get rid of them. I have an ES/ESII combo that I use every so often (one loaded with BW and one with colour film). I've often thought about getting an original Electro Spotmatic but their reputation for having unreliable electronics has always put me off.
Glad someone is keeping these treasures alive and working.

I've always liked the idea that the "K" 1000mm lens came with a wooden tripod. I've seen pictures of one. Getting the 1000 with the original wooden Pentax tripod would be an entertaining addition to my K lenses collection!
