Problem with *IST DS MENU BUTTON

Hey everyone,

The four way menu button on my *ist ds has stopped responding. I doesn't seem to be a battery issue so I am unsure what it might be caused by. I can't update the firmware because I can't select 'yes' to prompt it. I have heard of this problem before but have not come across any solutions as of yet. Can anyone help?
