Thanks for the comment Jac. The mount is probably the worst thing about the flash, but otherwise it's still the best flash Pentax has to offer. As people already know, it swivels, tilts, and emits a great amount of light. The best part is that your on-board flash can trigger it as a slave flash or you can just use it on your camera and bounce the flash for better contrast and shadows. No extra attachments are needed. Fun for under $300.

I am selling a lightly used Pentax K-r (body only), which is in perfect functional conditional with a clean body. I bought it in February 2011 and still under manufacturer's warranty. It comes with box (removed UPC), AA battery adapter, O-ME53 Eyepiece Magnifier, LCD cover, and all the other original accessories except the lithium battery and charger. The camera will instead come with 4 AA eneloop batteries, an eneloop charger, and an AA battery adapter (mentioned before). I prefer AA batteries because they last longer than lithiums and are widely available. I have this item listed on Amazon.com at the lowest used price, but I'll sell it for less here because I like PF and its members.

I think I remember that the other person that modified their Canon 5d shaved their mirror and then cut off the lens' aperture lever. I was thinking since you didn't modify your lens in any fashion that you might be able to use Av mode if you used an EMF PK to Canon EOS adapter that states it supports Av as well as manual.

beautiful shots. I'm kind of new to the idea of modifying canons to fit pentax lenses. When you said that you were able to use pentax lenses with aperture rings, does this mean that you can use your A series lenses in aperture mode or are they fully manual just like it would be if you modified a 5d mirror?

I will definitely photograph my equipment and write down all the serial numbers. I should mention that I'll be living in Nicaragua for about 10 months for work and currently, I do not have homeowners or rental insurance. So I'm starting from scratch here. I'll check with State Farm, but does anyone know if I am able to get property insurance without having to buy rental insurance?

Hey Fellow Pentaxians,
I'm just wondering if anyone has any good suggestions for travel insurance for photgraphy equipment and even my laptop. I'll be moving to Nicaragua in mid-August and worried that my stuff will get stolen (I'll stick out like a sore thumb there!). I am a US citizen and so I guess I would prefer any US-based insurance companies more, but open to any other affordable solutions. I left my sig on here just in case you want to know what I'm packing for the trip.

Thanks, Deiberson. I'm actually bumping down from the Pentax-DA* 50-135 f/2.8. I don't really use telephoto lenses often as I tend to shoot portraits and candid shots. I'm pretty set on the quick-shift ability of the DA55-300, but seems like the Tamron would also be a good buy to keep the same speed.
The reason I'll be selling the Pentax-DA* 50-135 f/2.8 is that I'll be moving to Nicaragua in August and so I want to downgrade this lens just in case my stuff gets damaged or stolen. If I can find a good international insurance policy though, I'll just keep it since it is an excellent (excellent!) lens. Also, I'm trying to save money and pay back some student loans.

I have two SDHC cards for sale. They are both genuine Sandisk Class 6 cards and have been tested on the Pentax K-x and Pentax K-r. I can also confirm that they work flawlessly with HD video on both of these cameras and I would expect the same functionality on the Pentax K-5 and K-7. The SDHC cards that I am selling were either bought off of amazon or buy.com. If you buy both of them for $60, I'll throw in a knockoff Sandisk 16GB card in for free and include shipping!
