i had the same problem and it was a cheap-o memory card i got from walmart that caused the problem
i called them and they sent me another card for free
still not gonna use it for video but whatever free card for pictures i suppose

my k-x says i am using 1.0 so i downloaded the newst one and when i go to install it .. it just sits on a black screen forever .. i even let it set for like 30 minutes

i used an old world preset in my editing software
i sat in the trunk of a car
im not familiar with metering at all or even how to change any of the settings in video mode

ive shot some music videos on my k-x
they are rap videos and the lyrics are explicit so you are warned ;x
only issue im having is low light ... lots of noise in the video

the card is empty
but when i start recording anything it cuts off in about 30 seconds or so if that
its not over heating .. im not sure whats going on .. any advice??
also it takes like 1+ minute to save that video...
its a decent card .. scan disk ultra II 4gb version

it used to be on when in video mode
but now its grey with a red line through it
i go intot he movie options and it says its on
any tips?

red thermometer comes up yea .. doesnt stop shooting video just dont want to run the camera if its goign to over heat ...i normally end up switching out between three cameras and its kinda annoying ;/

any solutions for them? any camera cooler? lol idk .. but i use my camera to shoot music video's so it is being used only for 5-6 minutes at a time and then there is a rest but it seems like 3 minutes into shooting outside the overheeating icon pops up

i plug it in .. turn the camera on nothing happens ....
i tried changing it to picture transfer in the usb option and that didnt help so i wen tback to the default mass storage .. still doesnt work

i have bought a couple different memory cards
some 4 gigs .. 8 gigs .. and the 4 gigs gives me 11 min of video... the 8 gives me 21 min ...
on the back of the box of the memory cards it says hd video should record like 80+ minutes ...is that just a sales pitch? ;x
also - what batteries do you guys use?
Ive tried a couple different energizers and they are drained within 5-10 min of video use

I have a pentax k-x and if i use any preset mode the flash is just wayyyy too bright .....is that just a shitty thin bout the presets with this camera??
