Hi there guys thank you for getting back to me. I have the exact lens that you listed jatrax. I looked all over this thing and didn't see the other pin. I got frustrated with it and pulled the mounting plate off of there and I see that the lever/knob moves about just right but the aperture stays fixed on what ever I set it to with the mounting plate off of there. I am going to leave it at 5.6 for now. Something isnt connecting properly back here and I will have to get brave enough to finish this job.

Hi there ladies and gents. I have an issue with a lens I recently acquired. It was working fine earlier today I switched the aperture to get a sharper pic.....boy was it sharp at 5.6.

There is a little lever on the side that I slid down and the aperture returned to wide open again regardless of the aperture i set it on. At this point I was puzzled and removed the lens and pressed the little pin like deal on the back. and it returned to 5.6 after a while I started shooting some stuff with lighting and moved the aperture to f16 and while focusing to get a sharper image I moved that little.....lever again, at this point I shut down the cam and pressed the pin again and it made the sound like it was returning the aperture to normal but it stayed wide open........Any clues on what could be wrong?

I am sure that was a tough read for some of you guys but I have no idea how to really describe this incident. Any help will be greatly appreciated

Thanks much Causey. I wasn't so sure about this lens considering people online were bashing it heavily. But, it turned out to be a decent little lens.

Nice shot. There is a story behind those eyes. I like the tones and the detail I agree with Ivor about the long hair.

So I got a answer back from Bruce Smith. Here is what I sent him. I am not a english major so reading through my part may be painful.

Hi there Mr. Smith I was browsing around the Pentaxforums and saw your name mentioned as usual it lead me on a quest to see your work. I apologize for using your portfolio request for anything other than an actual request. I have three questions to ask you. How did you develop your signature style? What made you strive to be where you are now and what are you currently shooting with? I would really love to hear back from you if at all possible. Thank you in advance.

Here is his response

Hi Tremaine

:-)

Your style develops because of shooting a lot, its not some thing that can be conceived. I follow my own interests in fashion, my wishes of how, what, were and who I want to shoot. The more passionate you are about the subject your shooting, the more of yourself is seen in the images you produce. In the past I was influenced by masters of the time, styles of the time etc. These reflect in my images even today.

A desperate need to express my idealism re the feminine, the style in life, design, colour and form. I use photography as a communication that when I was younger I didnt have. Photography gave me a means to understand and a license to express.

I shoot Nikon D3 D2h D2x mainly 17 to 55 or 24 to 70 zooms all f2.8 Nikon.

Regards

Bruce

Hi there Eric I am new to the K-7 as well but not new to Pentax. Stick it out, get some awesome glass and shoot amazing photos. For me with my K10D when I first got it I developed a bit of LBA because all of my local thrift stores had glass. Soooo I would suggest trying that way or save up and get a really good long lens

Hi there and welcome to the forum. I hope you love it here as much as I do. There is a wealth of knowledge on this forum. I don't think that particular lens is weather sealed. I went with the0 Pentax SMC DA* 16-50mm f/2.8 it is weather sealed.
