As some of you know, I use takumars not as photography lenses but timelapse or video glass. I love my takumars. Anyways here is a spot I shot with the awesome 15mm 3.5 S-M-C LOVE THIS LENS!

My Prime Lenses I use for Filming.. All Takumars

On the right picture in the case it has the picture of the whole set that I use in the field. 15, 17, 20, 24, 28, 35, 50, 85, 105, 135, 200, 300 all S-M-C and a Super Takumar Macro 50mm on the bottom right of that picture. I use it more then the S-M-C macro because of the 1 to 1 ratio

Here is a neat way how to create awesome Bokeh in pictures. Thought I would pass this along. It's about how to make shapes in Bokeh like hearts, leaves, stars or whatever else. Enjoy!

I started a blog a few weeks ago about photography/video lessons. It is fairly new so only a few posts as of now. However once a week I ad a new lesson! All of the things you would see on there are from takumar lenses. If you have a question what lens was used just ask..

Sorry for the long post. I put in the 35mm for fun. You can't even tell the difference from f8 and f3.5 The non smc got softer at f8 and was sharper at f3.5. Also take note to ignore the picture names from flickr. When I exported the cropped files it named them version 2 this is not a reference to which lens i used. :)

I have charts shot with both the 7 and 8 element. Both wide open are not that great. But what do you expect at 1.4. Its like the 1.2 lens everyone freaks out about. But the 7 is slightly sharper. I wanted to believe that the 8 was sharper because its worth more. But its not. I've tested it against 3 different lenses and 2 different 8 element lenses both in great shape. Although one plus for the 8 element is that it has less breath. Which no one really cares but as a cinematographer I like that! Makes pulling focus less distracting. In the 7 element you might as well be shooting a hitchcock film because it zooms a lot when pulling. Once I get all my takumars I will make a website with graphs and what not of all the different lenses and how they compare. So far the sharpest one I notice is the Super-Multi-Coated 35 3.5. Good cheap lens that gives great color and great pixel detail. The 55 1.8 is sharper then all the 1.4 even when they are all on f8. That was disappointing because my 55 is beat up and looks like crap and was 2 bucks at a garage sale. But its crazy sharp. Maybe I just need to keep buying the cheap takumars. lol Allthough the 85 1.9 seems sharp too, and great bokeh not all spirally looking like a lot of takumars. Anyways just rambling now. Maybe I'll get a website up someday about the takumars.
