If you are looking for syncing try Photosync link. It lets you transfer photos between devices and computers and cloud services.

If you do pick up an MZ or ZX also look out for a cheap FG grip. It will not only make the camera a bit easier to hold but also lets you use Eneloop or similar AA batteries. Much cheaper than the standard CR batteries.

Sad news. I knew him through the Single Challenges where he was a regular contributor.
He was always friendly, a top bloke.
He will be missed.
My thoughts are with his family at this time.

If I might emerge from lurking and make a suggestion. Perhaps if you joined up to the Flickr Singles Challenge group it might help you get Explored :)
There are 99 members now, you could be 100! The link is here

What about Image Capture which comes with the OS? It has basic scanning functions. I have used Vuescan for many years and although the initial price is high, new versions are free.

I shot only E6 slide film this month and I had to change how I usually scan. I had the same weird colour cast on some of my scans but it was easy for me to adjust. I tried the shop scans a few times but they were horrible, maxed out contrast and over sharpened. I bought a used Epson GT9800 which while not perfect gives me better control.

Well done repaap! The Velvia 50 looks nice. I'll have to get some. I have 2 more shots to post but they only come back from developing tomorrow.
Looking forward to your posts, Tim and Matt :)

After a month of shooting Velvia and Provia I now only want to shoot slide film. The negatives look so wonderful.

Thanks for help. I think it looks like a scanning error on my part rather than a lab error. The film was not expired either.
I never thought to use a light box. I don't have one but using my computer screen I don't see such an extreme red shift.

I am looking for a bit of advice about Velvia 100. I had never used it before and after scanning I got pictures like this. Scan-130426-0009.jpg by patjapan, on Flickr
I have heard Velvia colours are vivid but is this typical? I can easily adjust the colours while scanning but if I am shooting Velvia I want it to look like Velvia.
Any pointers would be welcome as a few of us on the Single in Challenge are scratching our heads. :)

I finally got around to scanning and uploading some pictures. I have seen some super shots posted this month and I have been trying new kinds of film too.
I will make an effort to post some comments too.

I have been watching this thread develop (sorry :)) for a while. and it seems like everyone will be working at different speeds. I am lucky as the local camera shop is only 15 minutes away and they can process my colour films in 30 minutes if they are not busy. In December I shot 6 rolls of 36 exposures but my output varied greatly from day to day. Also Thursday is when I have the most free time.
I think the main trouble will be knowing when someone posts new pictures. If there were not many film shooters could we each make an individual thread for the whole month and then subscribe to each other's threads? That way we can get notifications from the forum about new posts. If we post the pictures in reverse order then it should be easier for people to find them and comment.
Also the idea of using a small notebook as a record is great. Don't know if I have time to write down all the details though :)
Finally a bit of bad news the price of Fujifilm films will be increasing by 15-20% here in Japan from April 1st.

I have just put up the thread for March but am not sure if I am up for another month. I just checked and February will be the 2 year mark for me. Perhaps I need a wee holiday. :)
A bit of a lens review - my lens was the Super-Takumar 105mm f2.8 which I rescued from a junk shop for very small sum. I also have the M100 2.8 and really I don't see much difference between the two. I also started the month using the K-01, while the semi TAV mode is pretty good, I found focus peaking wasn't so good with a longer lens. I had to focus, then push the OK button to zoom and then fine tune focus by that time the shot was gone. Shorter primes are fine on the K-01 as are AF primes which can be set to auto zoom on the lcd. As for my theme of People well all I can say is I am glad February only has 28 days :)
I am NOT a street shooter. :)

A new month and a new Single Challenge. All are welcome!
Ever wanted to find fame and glory by being Explored on Flickr? .......... Then why not join the Single in Challenge? The idea is simple:
Every day, take a picture with your chosen lens of the month and post it to the thread of the day. Then other members of the group will comment on your shot. Don't be shy and comment on other member's pictures too. Here are some more details
1. You need to join the group to post
2. This thread is only for discussing the March 2013 Challenge - if you have a problem this is where you ask.
3. You can upload your pictures to an album in the forums here, Flickr, Picassa .......... Here are some of mine on the forums and on Flickr.
4. Each day has a thread of it's own. Here is March 1st.
5. This is how to put your pictures from an album on the forums to the daily thread You Tube |
src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/wEEub4vjFc4?controls=1" allowfullscreen> |
if you post from Flickr you need to copy and paste the BBCode Screen Shot 2012-10-27 at 6.55.42 PM by patjapan, on Flickr
This all must sound a real pain but by Day 3 you will be an expert! I promise ;)
The only strict rule we have is it must be a Pentax or Ricoh body and the pictures you post must be from the same lens.
If you miss a day don't worry.
We are a very friendly, very international bunch. Come and try!

Looks like a few folks are struggling to finish :) Time to play those safety shots. If you have no time to shoot have a look back through what you have already taken and upload one of those.
What's the best shot you haven't shown? Or try a bit of PP, convert it to B&W or HDR.

@ Sandy - well I have the 70mm and it works really well on the K-01. I was like you and had both the FA43mm and the DA40. I ended up keeping the FA. Your comparison shots were very useful and got me a little interested in the 21mm but I have an FA28 which is probably good enough :)
I also think that the lens of the month has been John's Sigma.

At least your bag is a bit cool. I use a Kata Shutter-M Photo here which everyone refers to as my pants bag because that's exactly what it looks like :) UK pants that is rather than US pants.
It's a great holster bag though.
