What is your estimated time schedule for the shipping of the 2 year warranty cards?
Is this a problem created by the purchase of Pentax by Ricoh?:(
Since I just purchased a K-5 from B&H, I am concerned that they will in fact be available.

:DThanks B&H for coming thru on the reduced price of the K-5 @999.99. You received my order early this morning and I already have a tracking number. As my original post stated, I have purchased all my photo equipment from B&H and was devistated to not see your reduced price to match the "other photo retail outlets".
Thanks again and am looking forward to my delivery on Wed. ;)

:(It is 11:10PM Central Standard Time and I just checked the price of the K-5 with B&H and it is still $1199.95. They have also dropped the Nov 27 price change.
I was ready to order, but will now have to look elsewhere, as Adorama and Amazon are at $999.99.
I have bought 3 Pentax cameras from B&H and have been loyal to them for all my camera equipment. But this is really a disappointment.:mad:
Would love to know the reason they are not on the same page as their competitors.

This is in response to my concern posted in the "other" forum.
Its in Hoyas investor papers. Even though Hoya does not own Pentax now... the Japan Quake delayed the launch of the Q by two months. The flooding is also hurting Pentax as well as Hoya in other ways, big time. The date of this statement/paper is October 31, 2011. So for Ricoh things might be much worse; at the least no better.

• For the camera business of PENTAX, the 2nd quarter was the final quarter. As the launch of
mirrorless cameras was two months behind schedule due to the effects of the earthquake,
the results were lackluster. I believe that demand for cameras overall is pretty much
accounted for by smartphones. In particular, cameras with a zoom of less than five times will
probably decline by around 15% in volume terms going forward, I think. I thought that if the
new mirrorless segment had been established instead, the quantity of mirrorless cameras
may increase by around 15%, combined with single-lens reflex cameras. However, as the
camera business will miss the Christmas season because of the floods, the outlook is very
uncertain. Given that there are only three countries, namely Japan, Hong Kong, and the
United Kingdom, in the world where mirrorless cameras account for more than 20% of our
product mix and that mirrorless cameras have not yet been recognized in other countries, we
had put our hopes on their performance this autumn. As such, the camera business had an
regrettable outcome.
• The lens business of HOYA grew around 10% year on year in the 2nd quarter, thanks to
customers who tried to accelerate the recovery from the earthquake. Although the flooding in
Thailand will have an impact going forward, I think that the overall trend will be positive for
HOYA, as I expect that the performance of both mirrorless and single-lens reflex cameras will
improve, while that of compact cameras will decline.

Thanks for posting the screen prints of B&H K-r website. I personally am dismayed in the fact that this model is being discontinued so quickly after its launch. I certainly hope it is caused by a new model being released soon, not the alternative. I want to stay with Pentax, but they make it rather difficult when they stop selling thier latest products.

Up to this time, they, along with Adorama, Amazon, Buy.com, etc. have all sold the K-r "body-only" for $542.00. I have the K-100D, K-10D and K-20D and bought them all "body-only". I belive all the Pentax cameras "DSLR" you could buy "body-only".

Your problem is having a memory stick which has gone bad.
Download a program called "MEMTEST", run it and it will telll you the condition of your memory sticks.
I had exactly the same problem, only on one computer out of four, so I knew it was not the camera, memory card,etc.
I found the answer on the Lightroom forum at Adobe.
I had a bad memory stick. replaced it and never looked back. All my photo's come in to lightroom perfect and stay that way.

:(Had the same problem. Ended up being one of my memory sticks in the computer was bad. Get the program "memtest" and check your memory.

Had exactly the same problem in windows PC. After weeks trying to determine the problem, it came down to my memory sticks. One stick was bad. Replaced both memory modules and no more problems.
There are free programs available on the internet to check you memory module. Go to Memtest86.com. Memtest86 is a thorough, stand alone memory test for x86 architecture computers. BIOS based memory tests are a quick, cursory check and often miss many of the failures that are detected by Memtest86.
By the way, this problem in documented on the Adobe Lightroom forums.
