The pastel version is actually the photoshopped image. I prefer it to the original. :)

Wow! It's been so long since I've shared any photos. I had to reactivate my account.
I took some spring photos on Sunday and thought I would share.
I'm sharing the Cherry Blossom as both the version with minor color/contrast adjustments, as well as with Photoshop Actions applied.

I'm not the most technical, so I can't help you there. But it does look like a camera issue, not a user issue.
The K-x can be a little slow to focus, but once it does, I've found the images to be sharp. I haven't had any sort of "ghosting" problems and have used the K-x for quite a while now.

Snapped this during my weekend in DC. It's pretty dramatic at night, and much larger in person than I expected.:)

Love it! There is something really fun about shooting models/figures/dolls. I also thought it was a 3D model until I continued reading. I like the smoke effect, it's really cool.

I like the moodiness of the self portrait. The above lighting and heavy shadows work nicely.

I agree, I like the color better. I think the soft colors of the bird is part of what makes the photo interesting. You lose that in BW. :)

The LCD screen is definitely a challenge in bright light. I had no idea they were charging $250 for the viewfinder...That's nuts. I have a ton of disposable cameras at work I may have to try this out.

I just got my Q this weekend, and happened to have it on me while driving near Newark airport as a Plane was landing. |

You have been very helpful! You answered many of my questions and beyond. I'm dying to play with a Q now and see for myself.

I'm very interested in the Q. I currently shoot with a K-x, and while I love it, I find the size to be a bit cumbersome while traveling.
I like the idea of having a camera on me at all times (and something that takes NICE photos, not crappy cell phone pictures that can't be printed above a 3.5x5)
I like having control over my lens, which is why I shy away from typical point and shoot cameras. Plus, I feel like I spent a decent amount on my entry-level DSLR and a point and shoot would be a bit of a step down.
That being said, the Q has a fairly hefty priced tag. How does the image quality compare to the K-x? How large can an image be printed before it starts to lose quality?
I tend to do close shots, unless I'm in a scenic area and want to capture everything. How is the kit lens? Does it feel limiting?
I'd love to play with it .I'm located in NJ, anyone know of some dealers that may have it?
Thank you for your thoughts.

I love the reflections in the first photo! I also find the Star Bucks shot to be very interesting, kind of futuristic in nature.

I agree. I'm starting to find my kit lens to be a little limiting too. I felt like some shots were a little too tight for my liking. But It was a good chance to play with my manual setting, which I'm still trying to master. =)

It's been a very rainy few days here in NJ. I took a few flower photos yesterday that certainly brightened the mood. :) |
