Shoot RAW when possible. Getting it right out of the camera is easier than fixing it later in post. Practice Practice Practice.

I'm assuming because of the DA designation that it's not for full frame.

I bought one. It's huge. Mine shipped out within 2 days of ordering and I got it within 6 days of ordering.
Perfect for storing my lens or taking gear to an event.

Just got my 2nd copy and found another issue. The second copy is vastly improved, but when focusing in broad daylight, 50mm, f/2.8, and a black shirt, it will not focus. Tried it 20 times and no luck. Stop down to f/3.2, or shorten to 40mm and it seems to focus more often. I know it's difficult conditions but the 50-135 has no issues and is very snappy. Faster than my screw drives. I'm wondering if I'm hitting the limit of the f/2.8 focus sensor.
Are the 16-50 and 50-135 so different in focus response?
Getting frustrated.

Just ordered another one. The SDM is not inspiring confidence. If I keep the second one, might have to eBay a body to do the screw conversion. Sorry for raising the SDM issue again.

Thank you for the info. Comparing it against my 16-45, the 16-45 was very reliable and faster at focusing than the 16-50. Every focus attempt on the 16-50 included at least 5-10 adjustment of the motor before it finally aquired focus. This made it impossible to even shoot shots of my slow walking dog. I'll see how the second one goes.

Just bought and returned a 16-50. It was focus hunting even under high contrast subjects. It would refuse to lock focus about 10% of the time. It would also take a number of adjustments before locking focus. (Hunting).
Before I order a replacement, I want to verify this is not normal for this lense.

Thank you for your assistance. I'll definitely try the Noise->Medium. That will give me more options when I get ready to clean them up. ---------- Post added 09-08-15 at 10:17 PM ----------
Our setups seems to be similar. The image is definitely a little underexposed. I've only applied my general adjusts so far and currently waiting for the dance studio owner to select the shots she likes. I'm currently running 2 Einsteins and 2 B800's with 64" Buff PLMs Soft Silver with diffuses. I'll definitely need to check out vinyl. If you notice in the lower left, there's a white square on the floor. It's a 3M product for removing dirt off your feet. Similar to clean room mats. First year I've tried it and greatly reduced the dirt tracked on to the paper.
Been looking at the Watcom digitizers, but it keeps getting pushed back each year...to much LBA... |

oops. I posted this to the wrong forum, how to you move it to the digital processing forum?
I just finished shooting a dance studio and was wondering what you did for cleaning the floor of the paper background. What I usually do is layer out the subject and then use a gausian blur on what's left.
Someone else mentioned lightening the dark spots, but that's alot of spots. I though using a color range to do the selection if I was going to be selectively lightening.
What do you think?
Here's an example. |

full and 1/4 power only? I guess that's ok for the guide number.
It will probably sell well for the masses.

It's pretty bad with a Sigma 610 Super and my 530 Super. If it use it in manual mode, it works perfectly.

K-3 is the best APS-C camera I've owned.
Video is the only area where I think it's lacking behind the competition. From a photography point of view, it's more than I need
Only experienced the mirror-flap once on firmware 1.0. Don't use P-TTL, only manual strobes so it's never been an issue.
Haven't looked back since.

Nice looking, need another backup for the K-3 Silver and this might be a good option if they don't release anything new at Photokina.

Just got mine and I'm pretty impressed so far. It's slow but it does work. Showed my Canon, Sony, K-5 and Fuji friends at work and they were all jealous, They said if Canikon produced it, it would be $400. They were disappointed that it wouldn't work in their cameras. My K-5 friend was definitely sad that it didn't work in his camera.
At first I wanted the memory card to be bigger but with RAW going to slot 1 and the JPEG going to slot 2, it's not really an issue. The display showed 1100 pics for the 64 GB card in slot 1 and 800+ in the flu card so it's close enough. Recently I injured my lower back, so this might be the answer for those unusual positions I keep finding myself in.
The only gripe I have is that the controls\image roll off the bottom edge of the screen when viewing in landscape mode.
