Sub 80eur tripod for a K20D

Thanks for the opinion.
I shake a little, so I guess a monopod isn't for me.
About the camera weight on cheap tripods, as an mechanical engeneering student I am aware of that =) Almost all tripods that I am watching support about 6KG, so +-2kg on each foot, it will meet the K20D+ Lens requirement.

Dolica seems very fine, but I guess I won't risk paying taxes (23% of the price) :/ but thanks for the input.

Didn't knew that one, thanks a lot, I can buy it for about 72eur, shipping included.
Do you have any experience with the other brands I mentioned?

Hi guys, I am willing to buy a tripod for my K20D + 18-250 Tamron (and some m42 soviet lenses, the heaviest one may be the jupiter 9 85mm I guess).

So far I've seen this options

Mantona Makro Pro II:
Mantona Stativ Pro Makro II Dreibeinstativ: Amazon.de: Kamera & Foto

80eur shipping included to Portugal.

Mantona Scout

http://www.amazon.de/Mantona-Stativ-Kugelkopf-Schnellwechselplatte-Dreibeins...9200383&sr=8-2

70eur shipping included to Portugal.

Cullman Primax 190

Cullmann PRIMAX 190 Stativ mit 3-Wege-Kopf und: Amazon.de: Elektronik

48eur shipping included to Portugal.

Vista Attara

Amazon.com: Vista Attaras Grounder Tripod with FZ-10 3 Way Head, Supports 9 lbs, Extends 11" - 63".: Camera & Photo

80eur shipping included to Portugal.

Amazon.com: Dolica AX730P105 73-Inch Proline Tripod and Pan Head: Electronics

Dolica AX620B100 62-Inch Proline Tripod and Ball Head

Amazon.com: Dolica AX730P105 73-Inch Proline Tripod and Pan Head: Electronics

68eur shipping included to Portugal, although I may pay taxes since it comes from USA.

Triopo-C-258

Triopo C-258 + KJ-2 Tripod Set / metal spikes/ max height 150cm /capacity:5,5kg | eBay

about 70eur.

Any suggestion?
Almost all of them have 4star review on amazon, but when you read the 1 star reviews it kinda gets scary, it seems that all "cheap" tripods are bad.

18-200 or 18-250?

Just received the lens, it is in very good condition (little dust in the rubber parts) with box and all the papers.
The price was very good,I missed one @203eur+shipping, then started bidding on others that finished @280eur and 250eur+ shipping, this was a very good deal.
I just took some pictures to see if everything is ok, and the quality seems very good.
It suffers from zoom creep, but first I'll see if I can deal with it =)
Thanks all of you guys for the opinions!

I have already read most of them, but the rating is +- the same, and most of the people only had one lens, so can't really tell about the others =).
I guess the general opinion is: 18-250 is the best but if 18-200 is much cheaper is the way to go...

Hi guys, I'm searching for a new all-rounder for my k20D.
I have two options:

18-200 - Tamron AF 18-200mm f/3.5-6.3 XR Di II LD Aspherical (IF)/ Sigma 18-200mm f/3.5-6.3 DC - being the Tamrom available new @Pixmania at +- 200eur (shipping included and the sigma for 30eur more).
Sometimes used ones appear on ebay for slighty less (130-180eur).

18-250 - Pentax SMC DA 18-250mm f/3.5-6.3 ED AL [IF] / Tamron AF 18-250mm f3.5-6.3 XR Di II LD Aspherical (IF) Macro / SIGMA 18-250 mm F 3.5-6.3 DC OS HSM Pentax - on ebay from 250-500eur (I can buy a new one @320eur shipping included).

I've read a lot and the 18-250 wins, but does it worth the price difference?
I'm just a casual shooter...
Thanks a lot and sorry for my english.

Hi guys, I finally managed to sell my K110D with lenses for 290eur
I was thinking about spending 350-380eur in a used body (if it comes with lens better).
So far in my country I've found the following deals:

k20D Body - 360eur
K200D + 18-200 - 400eur (this is the lens that I "need", when not using MF lenses)
K200D Body (ebay) - 245eur
K-x body - 305eur (ebay)

Any opinions?
thanks

Well, in this afternoon I took my soviet babies to take some pics:
here is the result:
Dada Day - a set on Flickr

I can't remember settings or wich lens was used in wich piture, but I only used 3 lenses:

Jupiter 11A 135mm f4
Mir 1B
Hellios 77M-4

Nothing fancy, just trying settings and shooting, I found the quality awesome for such cheap lenses.
I have a doubt, in my Hellios 77M-4, sometimes pics are only focused in some areas like this one:

Is this a defect?or what?

Thanks for the help :) I reckon I should learn some techniques, but a tripod won't be very good for me...I don't like very much the idea of transporting one...
The gorillapod is a good idea, but there are situations where I don't have a place to "hold it".

Thanks for the feedback, I was afraid of "shake reduction" was only a "marketing technique" :)
I'll start saving for a k-x/k-r and looking for good deals.
I have a doubt, does pentax have any type of internation warranty?
For example, in computers, if I buy a Apple Macbook in Portugal, I have 1 year international warranty (no proof of purchase needed) and another year for portugal (need the proof of purchase).
If pentax had something like that, maybe I would ask a friend to buy it on Uk or even Canada and bring me the camera when they get back to Portugal.
Sorry for my english :o

Hi guys, I am an happy owner of a K110D..
I bought it used about two years ago,and it serviced me very well, but I found that either for economical reasons either for "love" I mainly use manual focus lenses but I have a problem...I shake a lot...
Would a "shake reduction" featured pentax help?
I though about K-x/K-r (assuming that I can sell my K110D+Sigma 18-55+Tamrom 70-300 for 300eur +-), but it is a lot of money for the pics that I take, are there any used pentax that worth the changing?
For example, I saw a k200D with kit lens for 230eur (old ad).
With manual lens will I take any advantage with the newer k-x/k-r?
Thanks for your help

Would my Chinon lenses fit to a Pentax dSLR?

Hi,welcome here :)
I guess that chinon lenses are M42,so all you have to need is buy an adapter to them.there is a pentax one, wich is said to be the best, you can find it for cheap in the market place,ebay,etc...
I guess that is a very cool price on the K100D,I bought my self a k110D used with the sigma lenses on my sig for 250eur.As you may know, the k110D=K100 - Shake Reduction.
I prefered Pentax instead of Canikon because of the following reasons:

*Compatibility with M42 lenses (although on canon you have lots of adapters, you have to choose the right one on millions of china made adapters,on pentax, you only have to chose the original one  )

*The price used - as in Portugal there isn't a lot of people choosing pentax they go into slighty lower prices than canikon.

*The fact of using AA batteries instead of a battery.
*The huge amount of old cheap and awesome pentax mount lenses available on the used market.
*The reliability of the brand - after lots of reading in portuguese forums I never found a pentax dslr with problems.

Well guess that's all,hope it helps :)
