Hi All.
I'm back, and going to give this a try.
My first few days may be a bit rough (I currently have Covid-19, day 5 today, Paxlovid is just disgusting and pure evil).
Good luck to all.

I will also participate.
Sadly I couldn't complete April due to a bereavement, but I'll be back.

I know this is an old thread, but my brand-new K3 III is underexposing (between 0.7EV and 1.0EV) when using either the AF360FGZ OR AF360FGZ II. I have a Metz 36AF-4P that exposes perfectly on the K3 III.
Both of the AF360FGZ's expose correctly on my K1 and KP.
Sounds like a firmware bug with K3 III ?

I'm in again.
April has been tough, some significant (and scary) health issues, but getting better.
I'd love to do the month with my Sigma 18-300 DC Contemporary lens, but if others think that this is like using "every lens" at the same time, I will change...
I have a new 28-105 I could use on my K-1 ?

After a long absence, I feel ready to rejoin this madness. This month I might use a K lens, or maybe a DA* Zoom lens... I'm not sure I remember how to use a manual lens...

Single in April 2019 - a summary:
I had a ball using the HD Pentax-DA* 50mm F1.4, wide-open for most of the month.
And it wasn't hard, the lens is superbly sharp at nearly all apertures.
Bokeh is pretty nice at most apertures as well.
With the K-1 it pretty much nailed the focus every time.
Micro-contrast is good, colour is neutral, and very little post-processing was required.
Sandy asked for a comparison with the Tokina Opera FF 50mm f1.4 but there was no need, the lenses are identical.
I hope the new Pentax FF DSLR will use the new Sony 60MP sensor - IMX455 or IMX 555(like the forthcoming Nikon DSLR) , these lenses will really shine.

You won't be disappointed with the KP.
It's tiny.
It makes both the K3 and K5 look primitive!

What if it is a mirrorless FF camera, something like the Nikon Z7 or Z6, this is much smaller.

I might stay onboard and enjoy the return trip.
Here's a sample taken with my March lens, Vivitar 28mm 1:2.0 MC Close Focus Wide Angle (Komine) - It's a manual focus A lens from the 70's
Here's a quoted review:
"Ok, so what's the verdict?
This is really an outstanding lens. The close focus is remarkably useful and, combining that with f/2 and a decent OOF PSF, this lens can produce bokeh that are way better than most 28mm lenses can deliver.
Where things are in focus, they're sharp -- even wide open. Stopping down even a little improves the already-modest vignetting, and immediately improves both contrast and colors.
Colors aren't bad even wide open, but they get a little more accurate and slightly colder when stopped down. Distortion is minimal, and I really don't see any flare problems either."

Ohh, this lens is insanely sharp ;)

I don't know what Adam has done, but since changing servers, PentaxForums is very sluggish "down-under". Lots of lag, slow to load pages etc.
I'm not usually a big commenter on shots, but it is now quite Painful to view everyone's shots, let alone post comments.

Once again I will try to finish a month.

I might be able to post a few shots, but am unable to commit to an everyday shot.
Have fun everyone, I will be watching when I can.

Sandy says "The 85/1.4 lenses on the other hand are MUCH bigger and heavier, and in reality the need for such a thin depth of field is a very small niche and requires great expertise."
Sounds like a challenge to me...
Sigma 85mm f1.4 is my choice for the month.

After a disappointing month with my Tokina 17mm (mainly due to weather, family issues and extreme work pressure (== laziness)), I will try to do a full month in August. K-1 needs more exercise. My Sigma lenses are all fixed now (24-70/2.8, 35/1.4, 85/1.4 and the Bigma), I think I will go with the 24-70/2.8, and maybe if someone else is using the new Pentax 24-70, we can do some comparisons. I'm open to requests though, but please, we are lacking good light, the Bigma would be better suited to Spring, Summer or Autumn....

Center sharpness is just excellent, border and extreme edge sharpness is very mediocre.
