Pentax 0 GPS-1 Asking Price
165.00 USD Item Location
Delaware (United States) Item Description
This GPS finder works great and puts your location into the photo's meta data. People ask me if it really works. It sure does, but you must bring some spare AAA batteries and be sure that your GPS isa connected. If you use Lightroom 4+ it will automatically put your shot locations on the map. It comes in original package and includes literature.
It has been listed here and on eBay before, but I always got cold feet and pulled it off.
This gadget is not necessary but it is a lot of fun. Are you the original owner of the item being sold?

HD Pentax-DA AF Rear Converter 1.4x AW Asking Price
475.00 USD Item Location
Delaware (United States) Item Description
This teleconverter is really in mint condition. It works excellently on autofocus. There are no problems with this item. It's a small item that increases your focal length to give you extra reach. It comes in its original box, with end caps and literature.
It has been listed here and on eBay before, but I have always gotten cold feet and pulled it off.
I need to sell it as I do not need two cameras. My son got me a SONY a7 mirrorless, full frame camera and lens. I am sorry to see my Pentax camera go. Are you the original owner of the item being sold?

I learned the hard way that Ricoh/Pentax warrant repairs are no longer with the firm in Chandler, AZ. The new warranty repairer is Precision Camera, 7 Ann Gina Dr., Infield, CT 06082.
After waiting a month to hear about the status of my camera repair from Pentax, I called the customer service rep in Denver who told me they changed repair firms a couple of months ago. He asked me where I had gotten the Chandler, AZ address and I told him on line through a Pentax site. His response was that must have been an old site. He suggested I call the people in AZ to find out the status of my camera. I called and a very nice person told me that my camera was there sitting on top of her desk waiting for Pentax to authorize shipping payment to them so they could forward it to CT. She suggested I call Pentax and to get them to OK a shipping expense. I have done so and I am waiting for authorization from Pentax management to pay the $15.00 shipping cost. If they won't, the AZ customer service rep told me to call her back and pay the $15 shipment myself and they will mail it out.
I will let you know what happens, but be sure to send all future warranty returns to CT!

This probably does not belong here. It is a thanks to B&H, especially S. Silverstein in the customer service department. I purchased an adapter for my SONY camera, which would permit me to use my Pentax lenses on the SONY body as well as the Pentax. When I received it from B&H, I tried several shots, but it just seemed awkward to use. I contacted B&H, which authorized its return, and I sent it back to them. Unfortunately, I had put my SONY camera cap on the adapter instead of its own. I was contacted by Mr. Silverstein and asked to send the original cap. I found it and returned it to him but matching the two packages was difficult. After a few days Mr. Silverstein matched the two and then sent my SONY cap back to me at no charge. Their service and interest was outstanding. B&H is my camera store.
Thanks,
Ed:)

15mm F4 ED AL Asking Price
500.00 USD Item Location
Ocean City (United States) Item Description
This lens is in excellent condition with no internal dust, fungus or scratches. I have used it occasionally usually to take wide shots of the Grand Canyon or close-up shots of street photos. It comes with the original Pentax case, lens covers, box and Pentax papers.
The reason I am selling it is because I recently bought a SONY a7 with a 50mm lens. The SONY takes panorama photos so I should not need this lens any longer. I am keeping my Pentax K5 for macro and telephoto photos.

It comes packaged in the original box with all papers, case, detachable tripod mount, hood and both caps. I probably have used it less than 300 times. The lens's serial number is 9059891. I am selling it because it is too heavy for me to lug around. The price is fair for a used lens in this condition. Domestic US shipping is included. I am about to list my lens when I saw your wanted ad. My lens is in excellent condition. There is no dust or fungus inside lens. Externally it is in excellent shape with normal dust from use. I have only used it a few times, probably less than 50 because it is too much of a lens for me. It comes in original box with papers, case, hood and covers. I am the original and only owner. The lens serial number is 9059891. I am seeking $1100.00 including postage to domestic US addresses. If you are not interested, please let me know and I will list it on the forum marketplace or eBay.

I also should have mentioned that I got the replacement screw that works with my Manfrotto quick release. I use that screw and a quick release plate on my camera all the time. I also purchased a hand strap that can easily change with the sport over the shoulder strap. I use the hand strap when I am driving and need to stop, pull off the road, and get a few snaps. I use the sport when I am on foot with my camera. It is a great combination. I agree with you that it is a bit pricey, but than so too is my K-5 IIs. It is worth the money to have that assurance of quality.

Thanks for your suggestions. I also did a search and found a couple of helpful tutorials. I was amazed at how well my photos looked. They are generally in sharp focus with beautiful color and bokeh. I did some shots in AF and some in Manual, but it did not make much difference. I set my aperture at f/8 and my speed at 1/500+. The ISO varied but was usually at 200. I used my 300mm lens with my new AF 1.4 teleconverter. Shooting from my tripod with high repetition of shots got more good photos than bad. I was amazed at how good most of the shots were and how many shots (1098) I took that afternoon. Needless to say, I need to cull out the losers and keep the winners.

I have the sport and use it all the time. Several friends have asked me about it and went to buy it. It works well, a whole lot better than the normal neck strap. It can be tricky to put on, but you will get the solution after a few tries.

A friend of mine is taking me to a friend of his who has extensive hummingbird feeders to attract dozens of them. What do you suggest I shot to get some good photos.
Lens?
AV?
TV?
Thanks, in advance for any insight you can give me.

I had sent this message once only to have it returned to me by Adam because he said they are here. If Pentax's new teleconverters are in some retail store, ready to ship, I can't find it. Why are there no teleconverters in stock to ship? Did Pentax think it would not sell too many? Did all retailers think they would not sell?
A few may have sold, but there could not have been many. Look at the number of reviews at B&H or on the forum, they are scarce!
So, my question is, when will B&H have enough in stock to fill all standing orders and more in stock to ship?

I have used the Black Rapid strap for a few years and never had a problem. I do periodically check that it is tight by habit. A double point strap can break too. If either point breaks on a normal strap like the one included with Pentax cameras, the camera weight will pull the strap around your neck and fall to the ground. Any camera strap could fail.

I have read many threads from members whether they should shoot their photos in RAW or DNG. Most responses favor the latter as do I. Today I read Digital Photo's "Tip of the Week," which well explained why the photographer should use DNG, not raw, especially with Pentax cameras which save photos in DNG.

I hope it is helpful.
