This probably does not belong here. It is a thanks to B&H, especially S. Silverstein in the customer service department. I purchased an adapter for my SONY camera, which would permit me to use my Pentax lenses on the SONY body as well as the Pentax. When I received it from B&H, I tried several shots, but it just seemed awkward to use. I contacted B&H, which authorized its return, and I sent it back to them. Unfortunately, I had put my SONY camera cap on the adapter instead of its own. I was contacted by Mr. Silverstein and asked to send the original cap. I found it and returned it to him but matching the two packages was difficult. After a few days Mr. Silverstein matched the two and then sent my SONY cap back to me at no charge. Their service and interest was outstanding. B&H is my camera store.

Thanks,

Ed:)

I have many friends who have Canons, Nikons, and Sony cameras, but no one else in my camera club has a Pentax. This thread is not meant to be a challenge to non-Pentax users nor to dedicated Pentax photographers. I have read about and seen lots of other DSLRs and have consistently felt that the quality of the camera has less to do with excellence than the quality of the person using it.

Yesterday, I joined with several other club members to "shoot" birds of prey at a nearby state park. One of my fellow shooters noticed my bright red and black "PENTAX" strap and asked me why I had bought a Pentax? I explained as I have in the past that I had started with a Pentax 35mm slr camera many decades ago. I had always liked their quality and when I upgraded from one camera body to another I kept some of the lenses that were interchangeable on all Pentax slrs or dslrs.

While shooting the raptors I regularly used the HDR feature of my K20D. It is so easy and automatic to do. Press a button, turn a wheel or two and bingo, every time you press the button the camera responds with three shots. During the shooting I got a few questions. Like do you always shoot HDR? No. Why are you doing it with birds that move. Because if the bird moves you can always keep one or two of the three.

When we got back to our cars, the Nikon shooters and the Canon shooters with very new and expensive dslrs began asking each other questions about HDR. Do you know how to take HDR photos? What button do you push. A Canon guru said he thought there was a button somewhere on the camera body that could set it up, but thought you might have to reset it for each shot. A Nikon user said he knew how to set it up, but has to press the button three times to get the range of HDR settings.

I mentioned that my Pentax is so easy to set. One button, two wheels and it would shoot HDR automatically. They thought a moment or two and said well they think their cameras might be able to do that too, but they just didn't know how. A Canon loyalist who teaches photography told the others that she had not only read the manual but two other books on her new Canon, and she could not find an easy way to do it. The Canon guru said he thought it had something to do with a button on top, but would research it after he got home.

I tried not to look smug while I thought, thank goodness I have a Pentax.
