by the way KrisK10D, great shots =)

on of my good friends used to have a long haired German Sheppard that actually came straight from Germany and would follow German commands, i used to get down in the floor and wrestle with her, id end up with red marks all over my arms but she always knew we were playing, she loved me to death... whenever id walk up to the front door shed go NUTS when she recognized me and immediately want to play =)

much love to you all! i hope the cosmos blows the winds of good luck and love and happiness to all of you =)

NOW i am not saying all of you are like that, its not true, but there IS alot of it going on, and i hung around so long that i got sucked into thinking like that and acting in those ridiculous ways as well.... lol.... for those reading, do some thinking, be real... life is more fun when you say whats on your mind and communicate like human beings, not like your at a tea party.... lol.... jesus christ... anyways, everyone take care, im off my soap box, if i offended anyone i apologize.... ill still poke my head in every once in a while but not much.... i like to take pictures for the most part now lmao.....

Is my sensor dirty?

supposedly your supposed to use E2 with the K10 because of the anti dust coating, but ive always used plain Eclipse fluid.... The stuff literally dries on contact... Ive had no problems what so ever... Ive acutally seen people put "elbow grease into cleaning a sensor, no kidding... scrubbing away lol... no adverse effects... its not really necessary, just with light pressure and swipe back and fourth to cover the entire area and your good to go... it may take 2 tries to get the hang of it but its not hard... nothing to be scared of if you have a clean environment and plan everything out ahead of time. those 200 dollar kits are not worth it and in all honesty there not gonna get 99.9% of dust off the way a wet cleaning will. also, you may feel the sensor move or shift during cleaning, its expected as the anti shake mechanism moves when pressure is applied and it wont hurt anything, so dont freak out if this happens if you decided to swab your sensor lol

if you want to see how much dust is truly on your sensor you can take a shot with your camera stopped all the way down of your computer screen when set to a solid white background... then open this file in photoshop and then auto level it.. you may be surprised at what you find lol... The only way to truly remove 99.9 percent of dust is using the wet method, its acutally pretty simple and nothing to be scared of as long as you have a clean enviroment to do it in... those sensors will stand up to a lot more than you think... i have done MANY wet cleanings on my k10d's sensor with no problems... i use eclipse fluid, and a kimwipe wrapped around a home made wand made out of a popsicle craft stick... to use the popsicle stick as a wand just clip one of the ends off so its flat... then just a few drops of eclipse on the kimwipe and swab back and forth across your sensor to cover the entire surface... your end result is a sensor thats as clean as the day it came out of the factory, if not cleaner!

Sensor Cleaning Question

lol why do you care so much? are you on a mission to convert everyone's sensor cleaning method to caned air? its a common known fact, or as you would say, belief, that its not smart to use caned air to clean your cameras sensor... i don't think your going to change anyone's mind here and i doubt anyone is dumb enough to risk there cameras sensor by shooting a burst of air from a can of compressed air into there camera for the hell of it lol...

Sensor Cleaning Question

if you have used canned air you have surely seen the bits of liquid spew and quickly evaporate from the nozzle at times... if you haven't, you eventually will if you continue to use it. if the risk of getting some of that discharge on your sensor doesn't bother you then you have no reason to stop using the canned air! don't say we didn't warn you lol... also, even though its a super burst of air, does it really clean the surface? or does it move dust around... the only TRUE way to see how much dust is on your sensor (IMHO) is to take a shot with your camera stopped all the way down of your computer screen when set to a solid white background... then open this file in photoshop and then auto level it.. you may be surprised at what you find lol... either way, i still say that the wet method is the only true way to remove 99.9 % of the dust from your cameras sensor.

canned air can sometimes spray "spittles" out of the tip... even "careful use" cant stop that... aerosol cans can be unpredictable just like any other spray device. if one were to land on the sensor it may leave a mark that would have to be cleaned via a swab method... ive always just used the wet method... very easy to do and fool proof as far as getting your sensor clean.
