Thanks Sang for your help. I actually had to install both PENTAX Photo Browser and Photo Lab in order to properly install Remote Assistant, but it worked.
Strange I didn't have this problems on XP.

Does anyone use a Mac with their K100D Super?
I am having trouble getting iphoto to recognize the RAW format (.pef) output of the camera.
Does Aperture import .pef?
How about Adobe Lightroom?
Thanks!

Why should I buy modern zoom if I have few old ones in perfect working order?
I dont have SR on my SuperProgram and pictures are good, so it's not like I need this function, it's just good to know that i have an option to use it. Anyway I shoot with tripod when using zoom lenses.

Bramela to use your M lens go to:
Menu\Custom Setting\using aperture ring and change it to Permited.
This will allow for aperture ring to be used on lens.
For program compatibility you have to reffer to K10D Operating Manual p.210
Good luck.
dPest you can find A50/1.7 and A50/1.4 on eBay. There was one A50/1.2 sold for around £300. Honestly not worth it.
You can get A50/1.4 for around £90 to £110, and A50/1.7 for around £30 to £40, sometimes even more.
I have A50/1.7, and I have to say it's my best lens. used on SuperProgram and now on K10D.

Hi ricosuave and welcome.
You can always adjust AWB to your needs.
To allow this go to Menu\Custom Setting\Fine tune when AWB and set it to Enabled.
About 50mm 1:1.4 lens. You don't realy need one.
I have to admit, is nice to have one, but you can do just fine with 50mm 1:1.7
Plenty of these on eBay. Price is different to. For 1.4 you could expect to pay around £90 and 1.7 you can get for around £30. Flickr: Photos from jpmb76 Flickr: Just PENTAX! |

Hi there.
I have a problem.
For some it may sound silly but I just don't know what to do.
While using my old lens (SMC Pentax-A 50mm 1:1.7) on K10D camera is asking me to set focal lenght of the lens.
Should I set it on 50mm as it is, or 75mm which is equivalent of it on digital?
Looking forward to any help.
Thanks a lot.

Hi there.
Found this forum while looking for some info regarding Pentax lenses. It's nice to have Pentax dedicated forum on the net.
Originally from Czech Republic now live in London, UK.
Proud owner of Pentax SuperProgram and SuperA and now K10D.
Excellent camera. I don't know what I was thinking about when I was considering buying different dSLR.
Anyway. Happy to be here and looking forward to gain some more experience by being here. Flickr: jpmb76 Flickr: Just PENTAX! |
