Todays edition.
Whimbrel
Practice stalking on this willow ptarmigan male. He froze up completely. I guess he thought he was invisible or something:) Maxed out the closest focus distance on my 55-300. |

Thanks:)
It's not a duck, it's a Loon (Gaviidae). I believe the English species name is "red-throated diver"
It was handheld at f8 and 1/500. 510mm Iso 800. By hand held I mean I was flat on my belly in the mud, using my elbows as support. The trick is pretty much spray and pray, but with good breathing technique. Pretty much the same as when shooting my rifle.
Here is a BIF attempt with the same combo. |

I cant believe you guys, pentaxians seems to always hope/settle for the mediocre! Why is everyone hoping the new lens will be a cheap f5,6 lens? Come on, we have been waiting on this since forever. Anything else then f4 will just leave us hanging and wishing we could have the nice canikon lenses.. In my opinion this new lens has to beat the sigma 4,5 in every respect or else it will be a disappointment! Cheap/semi decent ways to reach super telephoto we already have a ton of options. High quality fast super-telephoto prime we have 0!. I hope they deliver a quality on par with fa600 f 4, they already have the plans for those so I don't see why they should do any worse.
Da 550 f4 WR DC now THAT would be something to drool over! And by the way, I cant afford it no matter which version they release, but I would like to have the best possible option for when i do (this century hopefully :D )

cant be all that difficult to include a 1 bar pressure sticker or something inside the housing. That way they could easily determine if it was submerged or not. WR was and is the main reason I chose pentax. This fine print stuff is bullshit!

This was my first snapshot with the k-5 and da 18-135. It's shot wide open at 135mm, and I put exactly 0 effort into taking it. Seems sharp to me, and looks promising when I learn to use it. |

You suspect it to be faulty, and your immediate reaction was to sell the problem to someone else. How nice.
