Like my uncle always told me, "The best/most expensive camera in the world doesn't matter if you can't take good pictures with a bad camera. Spending a ton of money won't make you a better photographer."

I like to think of it more as not having to spend thousands upon thousands of dollars to get simple functionality out of a camera. Canikon glass prices make me cringe. I prefer manual focus, anyway.

Part of me wants this glass very badly...the other part of me would feel guilty for snaking it out from under another member.

I'm used to getting called old-school, but up till just recently, I've been using 35mm SLRs with all manual settings. It was hilarious to see all of the confusion from Canikon users when they'd watch me use a manual focus ring.

I've been using Pentax cameras since I was a kid, but I just bit the bullet and purchased my first DSLR (a K-X for a screaming deal). Ready to jump right into digital (though I still get confounded by autofocus on an SLR...feels wrong after using old 35mm film SLRs).
