Is there a way to see if batteries in grip has run out separately?

I can't see it there. Maybe you remember it from a different Pentax model? Anyway, I realized that in the Set-up/Select battery menu, where you select battery priority, there are also icons that show the charge of the respective sets of batteries. I probably didn't interpret them as such when the batteries were all charged.

I have a K200D and the D-BG3 battery grip. Now, I like to keep it on, switching out the rechargable batteries in the grip, while having some alkaline in the camera as backup, which works fine with the "use batteries in grip first" setting. However, I can't find any way that the camera will let me know when the batteries in the grip are depleted and it is running on the batteries in the camera. Am I out of luck here, or is there some trick that will let me know?

Well, cheap long telephoto do exist in the form of things like the Vivitar 800mm mirror lens.

In some sense a larger sensor all else being equal can capture more light in the same time. You can compensate that with a wider lens though. Really, the difference in quality caused by the optical compression will only be a factor at the very edges of lens design.

Shopping advice for fast manual ~35mm lens

I love my Pentax-A 50mm f/1.7, but I have a K200D, with a cropped format sensor, and would like something of a similar speed, but around a more "natural", for the sensor format, 35mm. Something like the Sigma 30mm F1.4 EX DC looks amazing, but is really way out of my price range. I'm on a tight budget, and ideal would be something I could find used for around $100 (like my 50mm). A manual one with aperture automation, like my 50mm, would be what I prefer.

Does anyone know of something I should check out? Anything that can at least be found used cheaper than that Sigma 30mm.

I was one of the people suggesting street photography. Is that what's meant by "streets" above. Would that theme turn out to be the one I hope it will be made very clear if you need to actually depict literal streets, or if what is meant is street photography.

Can someone tell me what these red and white lines and arcs represent, and how to interpret them?

I love it when people just don't care. I was sitting on these stairs waiting for some mallard ducklings to get close when this woman started playing with her puppy two meters in front of me. I already had the polarizing filter on and snapped away like crazy. She walked away without even acknowledging me.
