Sigma 20-40/2.8 on K-1
Instead of sand crunching beneath your feet, imagine the tinkling sound of coral as you find the perfect spot to enjoy this remote beach. You won’t be competing for real estate here since access requires a 2km bushwalk from the nearest carpark; explorers rejoice!

To get there: Head towards Shute Harbour from Airlie Beach and locate the carpark on the left, just past the Harbour.

What's the first lens you would mount on your new FF Pentax DSLR?

I'd mount my Sigma EX 14/2.8 a lens that I bought in 2007, and drive up to the Blue Mountains to take a photo of the Megalong valley with the three sisters in the foreground. Next would be the FA 20/2.8 followed by the FA 31.

I already bought an A7 on Boxing Day and a K3 in November. In my case its too little too late. Something to look at a couple of years or so down the track. However, I'm glad I held on to my full frame lenses such as the Sigma 14/2.8, FA20/2.8, the Three Amigos, VL 180/4, the Takumars and so on.

Ok, this deal did it for me, finally bought a K3. I bought it from a brick and mortar store in Sydney CBD, that grudgingly matched the CR Kennedy price. I reckon its worth buying locally for the price - no warranty hassles.

At this stage of the competition its the little things that count, and the little FA77 gets my vote! Plus I never really cared for the FA* and their paint flaking issues.

I was surprised to see the 50-135 advance to this stage of the tournament. Wasn't so long ago that it was being vilified on nearly every post in the forum (I stayed loyal to my 50-135). In any case its a bit unfair to pit a zoom against a prime. That there is even a match between the two reiterates my belief and of others here, that the 50-135 is indeed a bagful of primes!

Which 20 something Prime?

If you are going to photograph an event, you might find a prime limiting. I'd get the DA*16-50/2.8 zoom. It looks like the bees knees, with its massive front element and gold trim and is also at its best at around 20mm.

Why not a square sensor?

The main reason that sensors are not square, is because if they were, you'd need to crop every single image

At the request of one of the inerested parties I have uploaded test shots at all marked focal lengths at 2.8 4.0 5.6 apertures at this link http://sdrv.ms/17ESygC

Oh, why, oh, why couldn't this lens have been weathersealed! Time to pull out the DA* 50-135 to do some comparison shots, me thinks.

His review is so rue, I was blown away by the bokeh from he 06, I had thought it was not possible on the Q. The 06 lens has added a whole new dimension to the enjoyment of my Q's.
