Thanks.
Also below a few pics from K-5iis.
I seldom post pics in this forum now as I had bad experiences before that my pics were being stolen by others whom claimed to be taken by them instead. |

I have the K-3 as well as the K-5iis with FA*250-600/5.6
I do not encounter any AF problem. Focus is accurate and with the K-3, the AF speed is even a bit faster.

I recently have some chances to take some birding pics with Sigma 170-500mm Apo DG, Sigma 150-500mm Hsm and Sigma Apo 300mm f2.8 with Sigma 1.4x teleconverter. In short, the 170-500mm and 150-500mm are very good in IQ and sharp even @ 500mm but you need to stop down at f8 and not wide open. The Sigma Apo 300mm f2.8 with Sigma 1.4x teleconverter is sharp even wide open. Some pics for reference and for sharing.

I have both lens.
However, I am going to sell the Nikon AF-S 80-400 vr since I am going to shift back to Pentax's FF.
The photos for reference below is from Nikon D810 with Nikon AF-S 80-400 vr http://www.dchome.net/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=1280472
The photos for reference below is from Pentax K-3 with Pentax DFA 150-450mm http://www.dchome.net/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=1296769&extra=page%3D1
My conclusion is the AFC from Nikon is much better than Pentax, whilst AFS performance seem to be the same level from both lens. Although I did try the AFC of the Pentax's combination, however, I did not post any photos mainly due to the result was not up to my standard and satisfaction.
The advantage of the Pentax's lens is AW, whist Nikon's is not weather sealed.
Regarding the image quality, I think the Nikon's lens is a little bit better in the aspects of CA.
Concerning about sharpness, I think both lens are great.
But of course, the statements above are based on my own impressions not being tested with scientific method.

From the pics by DA560 so far, I really can't say I'm impressed.
Indeed, I was struggling before whether to get a DA560 or just to buy a FA*600/4 from my friend whom had shifted to Canon recently.
I am in favour of the DA560 in view of its weight and fast DC AF. However, counting on the IQ from DA560 as seen, I finally got the FA*600/4 from my friend, not to mention the price was also cheaper than the DA560.
I hopes I have make a wrong choice as I would really want to see good sample pics from the DA560 with IQ better than my FA*600/4 pics as below. |
