Thanks for your reply. I was thinking if I used a remote trigger, would it do the job since it won't have the direct contact with the camera itself?

Hi All,
I'm posting a message for the first time.

I have Pentax k-x and have been given an external flash by my father (QCC-250 made by Toshiba) but I can't seem to able to find any information about this flash. I am aware that some old external flash units cannot be used due to high voltage, but I would like to know if anyone has used this or know anything about this flash I appreciate your input.

*I do not have a meter that measures the voltage so I cannot test the voltage output but it uses 4x AA batteries.
