This most certainly does not apply to any pictures here.

I am not a professional but I'm very grateful to you folks for posting all these shots. I only have a k-x (don't get me wrong - its a great camera and I enjoy it) and long for a FF. I will stick with the kx until I can afford the FF. Until then I am enjoying seeing what you guys are up to. Thank you.

Great colour in those 02B art photos.
I also decided to take the 02B for a spin recently, having acquired a PKA adapter. We went to a "Pride and Prejudice" exhibition at Lyme Park - the place that was used for Pemberley in the BBC series. I decided to stick to the one lens for the whole trip. I found 28mm to be a very useful focal length on my kx. Wide enough for shots of the house and also convenient for indoor shots of costumes.

Hi all,
I recently bought a Q - a steal at £149 with 01 lens. I have also recently joined a golf club where there's plenty of fowl, with young. Here's a shot taken at the back of the 2nd green.
Thanks for all the inspiration

Great pics!
@f8orbust
135/2.5 is soooooooo nice to use. I love that lens.
On a different note I have been following jerm1386's advice on how to install filters on the 17/3.5. First I bought a 67/82mm step up ring and 82mm generic hood, both cheap and cheerful from fleabay. This didn't cut out enough flare so I got the 67/72mm step up ring and suitable generic rubber expandable hood. Now this works - it significantly reduces flare. At the moment the step up ring is held onto the lens with blue tac. 72mm ND filters on their way too. This is another lens I love using.
What's the deal about posting revues of lenses? I'm only a beginner and don't feel qualified to guide others. Neither have I got experience of lots of expensive super-duper lenses to compare. I would like to post reviews of the 135/2.5 and the 17mm.

Somehow I managed to get my Kx to adjust ISO automatically this weekend when visiting a stately home - Erddig. I was a good job as these were taken in some dark rooms where flash wasn't allowed.
The first at 1600 ISO.
Next at 3200.
Finally at 6400. |

I have just returned from a trip to the USA. Beforehand, it took me a while to pick which lenses to take. I decided to be brave and carry only primes, because for previous holidays I'd just used the kit lenses 18-55 and 55-300.
Manual focus primes proved to be great fun. Most days I carried a 135mm, 50mm and 17mm, and was happy. The Tamron adaptall 2 17mm was used most. It's smooth close focussing ability was a joy. Although, it was left on infinity focus most of the time. Flare was a problem, but creative hand shielding came to the rescue. The A50/1.4 was also a joy to use. No problems with this lens and very useful walking about. The Tamron adaptall 2 135/2.5 was also so good to use. No problems with this lens either. It was necessary to have the extra reach on occasion. I never felt the need for more reach.
Yes I did change lenses a lot and did get some gubbins on the sensor. but it wiped away easily when I got back. The snaps I've got are very rewarding (to me at least) and I've learned a lot about my lenses - being a beginner. I need a good hood for my 17mm for one thing.
I took five lenses with me altogether. A 35mm and 28mm saw very little use. If I was to do it again I would take the 18-55 instead of the 35 and 28mm.

Some more from the A50/1.4.
Decided to rely on primes when on holiday. I took 5 of them, but in the end I walked around with a 17mm, 50mm and 135mm.

Recently picked up a Tamron Adaptall 2 135/2.5 (03B) for £21 - a steal. It's in superb condition and handles really well on the camera. Very easy to focus, close up too. So I decided to take it on holiday over the M135. It was used a lot and I carried it everywhere. Great fun to use and I love the results. I had absolutely no problems with flare or CA.
I'm really pleased with the results from this lens, which feels so great to handle, but I'd better stop before you get holiday pic overload.

I have recently acquired a 17/3.5 51B and a 135/2.5 03B. Both are in very good condition - build quality is just superb. Their first use came during a two week vacation in California. I took 5 prime lenses, which included the above. Focussing the Tamrons is precise and I found them an absolute joy to use. Most days I was very happy just carrying the 51B, 03B and the Pentax A50/1.4.
These are just holiday snaps. All hand held. I had great fun with with these lenses on my kx.
Firstly from the 51B:
The lens was great to have on the camera while walking round. Focus was mostly set to infinity. CA was the only problem. I don't have a hood for it yet. Shading using my hand did help.
I'll post some images from the 03B later. This lens I like even more! :)
