 Almost withered away in waiting for that to happen. But hey, I am more than halfway saving up for a 645Z, so, now what to do. Saving up for both :D.

Would be so great combined with my Q and Oly em1.

Unload the money cart, fill that cart up with equipment ...

So where does the Q go from here?

I want a Pro Q, with 2 control dials.
A flippy screen would be awesome, with a little pen to be housed in the body ... I fear such a tiny screen is difficult to tap at the exact right point with my finger. That is, when it comes to like: touch to focus and shoot. And then in processing the picture I could scribble my lyrics at the bottom of the picture or elsewhere and it would be perfect. A whole new quality q world it would be.
And I really want a high quality macro-tele. 200mm equivalent.
When I feel down and stupid, not worthy of a real tool, I comfort my Q, that it comforts me so, that we are such a match.
Gosh, and I do feel great then.
That's why I want a Pro Q.

Have fun!

----- Thanks.

... And all want to be crowned golden servants in the kingdom of the only king, but diversions and faltering self-confidence distract and lead away.
I hide in silence to overcome my lack of means and ability: I glorify in my own realm and use my joy of all that I can see to fight to translate into images the story I saw. Within those limitations, the golden servants matter no more. Only the joy and fight for reproducing just that.

Oh well. I liked your post.

Q starts, where how it should or is supposed to be, ends.
That is exactly where at last I am free.
Now let me take that into a wider perspective.
Zooming through my autistic world with a 08.
My average Q use, silent and impressionistic.

Nothing as fabulous as any of all these great pictures.
Just a simple document. With tiny Q.
This is taken about 72 hours after, major brain surgery, to remove a large brain tumor, my son.

I'd like to be able to do so.
And would not wait.
But not to use with old lenses.
Not to say the old ones aren't good. But new designs are welcome.
When? ... when ... ? ... !
Meanwhile absolutely happy with Q and OM-d em-5.

Hi there, nothing special, because I sold all of my old lenses, it is just like that. But I want to try the 60-250 with it.
I bought a cheap Lowepro Versapack blue backpack, it was on sale, 50% off, it is still a bit big for me, but anyway it is rather comfy. I can store the 60-250 in the bottom compartment and the tripod attaches to the back. I bought a new tripod aswell, because I needed a less heavier one. I ended up with a Sirui 3204M and K20x ballhead.
Leaving out the long center column in exchange for the shorter one, quick release included, just a bit less than 2kg. The backpack I think is 1100gr., so, add the weight of q and adapter, release, some stuff, it still is quite some weight. It is just I don't have experience with a gimbal, though that might be better. But then again, q is not swift enough for fast tracking. It will come down to knowing the spot and patience. Underneath the backpack there are small clipped straps, I can strap a lightweight mat there, to kneel on in the mud, to sit on. So, I guess patience is not going to be much of a problem. Now I need to get the adapter, the missing link. First I must sell my old tripod, save up a bit and then ... And then I need time and a bit of nice weather. There is a wonderful spot close by, with water and woodland, where herons and geese are. And lots of lovely flowers in early summer. It is going to be fun. Have fun too, barondla.

I have the black q which I use with 01 a lot. It is always with me and so are its batteries ...
No need for a viewfinder, no adapters, no non-native lenses, just q's.
That is, for now. But I just acquired a backpack to allow me to carry a sturdy tripod ... for my q ... with adapter ... and bloody heavy lens ... I've gone insane.
That's it. And the 02 and 06 (which by the way is fine, rather nice at the tele end. I like it). And the 03, which with the peaking is now working fine for me.
Yeah, true q love, it is just somehow not rubbish.

We can all sit in the afternoon sun, on our Pentax bench, and discuss the beauty of FF. And if there is no sun, maybe somewhere else. It is good to dream.
Meanwhile, I am happy to have sold most of my Pentax stuff, happy to go around with my Q. (And Em-5).
I can wait. Maybe once there indeed will be a Pentax FF. But I no longer feel I need it that much. Somehow Q and Olympus lured me away. But of course it still would be fantastic to visit my favorite spots with a Pentax FF.
But if not, then well, not.
And when I am done waiting, I am sure there will be plenty to choose from. I really hope for the best, but for me that best is also ok when mirror less.
By now I am not young enough anymore to be too patient.

FF
Fully Fulfilled.
Eyes that see. A hart that feels. And cares. And maybe a photographer registers. To show you what it is like. Through haze and pixels, we see. And are touched.
A photographers desire fulfilled.
FF, a true dream. Full Fulfillment.
Not one dollar changes that.
Whether you have that one dollar or not.
Nor the tool you use.

I'll go, to Koeln, somewhere it must be there, my anticipated ricohpentax k DSPIII with new f2.4 12 - 90. Yah.
And if not, well, Koeln is a nice city which I like to visit anyway.
And anyway, copiers get used less and less.
Sold my last da, 70, so, I am all set for a bright new future. With just a q 01/2/3 and k-5 with 31 and 100, really nothing very much holds me back.
And it helps my husband still holds on to some zooms.
YAH. I am sooooooooooo happy.
'Cause I also have an omdem5. And a great bag.

The Pentax Q - a real World user review

What an amazing review, ... it says it all. Many thanks.

These days I have a new nightmare : Pentax Ricoh no longer investing in my Q.
This aside from the ff nightmare.
Yesterday I was out with my q with the 01 and 02 and it isn't a p&s, the more attention you give the q, the better and more incredible the results. Indeed.
Finally I have a miraculous mini camera and now I don't want to loose it, I do want more for my q.
In the middle of the night I sat up, haunted to a feverish wake-up: what if I will never have my q tele zoom and worse: what if they never will give me a fast tele and what if that mini macro never comes. I am feverishly wishing for them.
And I know, firmware updates are desirable and there are 3d party k mount adapters, but I want small, q-small. Fast, modern and up-to-date. And if the system is to be neglected, still want the lenses.
It is so bad to have something so beautiful and then fear to have it to just see it die.

Poll: How many camera bags / packs do you own?

I have 2 official camera bags. All others are given away, donated or sold .....
No bag is ever the right bag, it seems. I keep rearranging them.
My solution is cheap camera inserts from ebay to go with my daily kipling or other bag. Pop in the insert and be done.
I have a large carton box in which I keep the inserts, all with their inner dividers arranged in a different way for a different purpose ...
Very tidy and very cool. Easy to clean. And cheap. And relaxing. And I can machine wash my kipling bags ... try that with a Lowepro or Tamrac or Think Tank ... or Tenba ... or Kata...
And I can stuff the insert in a plastic bag and then place it in my other bag and have no worries about rain.
I feel much better without dedicated camera bag.

Is Gorilla tape like duck(ed) tape?

I am not so sure about taping my shoes. After walking I usually race on to the supermarket for grocery shopping. Wouldn't look so great. Could keep another pair of shoes at hand in the car of course (it is drive to where I walk and park and go). But I also need the good grip of the profile of the soles. It is no fun to slip down in the mud.
Cann't go walking barefoot outdoors where I am. It is already hard enough to keep the ticks from my legs. Risky business.

Yeah, Rupert, those are THE boots. I recognise the type. I too had me some new ones recently, but that was because my feet got wet in the old ones. And with all the rain we have this summer, that was a bit too often too muddy socks for my liking. Useally I buy one pair of new walking shoes per 2 or 3 years. Yours seem to be rather beyond repair, but well, I don't think you often get your feet wet where you live ...

Anybody with an Olympus OM-D and a K-5?

Whatever. It still is a fun(ny) camera to own and use.
K5 still is better.
And not. It goes both ways.
It isn't a really petite camera, omdem5, but I cann't help wishing K-5 had that size and weight ...
There are those who want to adapter-use the cam, but not me. Af is reliable and easy with the 12/25/45. Flaws there are, of course. I don't care. To be able to switch between evf and screen, flip the screen, it is liberating. Priceless.
Ultimate quality isn't in K-5 either. That is what I told myself happily. For now it is all good.
I diminish my pentax aps and wait and see. I handled a nikon d800 yesterday, I guess with a few primes it will be fun too.
So often lighter and easier and not so important ... are really the most important.
And sometimes when alone and walk-reflecting, quality is what matters most.
Everything has a price, don't delude yourself.
A K-5 with 2 or 3 primes is really really small too. But not that flexible, not as an omdem5. And has better image iq. And then again not, because it cann't do what the omdem5 can do, and so on.
You want small, well, large size compacts will be a new future hot item too.
Seperate your wishes, ad an ideal modum for each wish. If you can afford and decide to want that.
For mf go as native as possible, or choose the best option. Sony nex5n is nice, they say. Or if you have m glass, go ricoh.
But really really small, go q, and live with its iq.
CHOOSE. And then AD COICES.
And a cupboard.

Not trolling, but who buys Pentax FF if the lens selection is inadequate?
Posted By PentaxMom Felua

Freedom comes with choice. Wished Pentax offered the ff choice, but they don't, ...
If they did, even without new lenses, I'd buy, instantly, almost without thought.
But perhaps one. Not so relevant for most ff-desirers: small and light, little specifics,
just like a spotmatic, but digital.
You may all need more, I don't. With 35(31), 50, 135, it will be fine.
Imagine. A really good viewfinder, allowing for normal manual focussing ---
once again. Just the matte.

Are film bodies getting more expensive?
Posted By PentaxMom Felua

It depends on where you search for them. And on what you are after. Asahi Pentax is always more expensive. I never look for them, but only very recently stumbled over a `lot` of nice film camera´s in De Kringloop in Deventer. A nice Minolta and two very decent Practica´s and one Spotmatic, which were decent because of the nice lenses they carried. Euro 5 upto euro 7,50 each, all seemingly clean and in decent order. I happily left them where they were. But if you are collecting specific models, well, that might be expensive just because of the specifically collecting that very model.
I still always think that if shooting film, you should print yourself. And not after scanning the rolls, which of course you developed yourself. But you know, in a dark room. Then you have your true magic.
Well, that´s it. Good luck searching.

Well, how we love to dream and dream on.
Maybe there will be a pentax ff. Yeah, why not. Could be nice with a 31 and a 77. If the combo weighs less than 1500 grams. Then I might buy. But only then.
Saving up is always good, because sometimes you need a new laundry machine or vacuum cleaner. And sometimes someone else really needs your help.
And sometimes when the bright and shining moment is there, you might wonder if you really want it. I am curious though, as to how it would perform.
