I know this is an older thread and not too sure if this will find you...I am relatively close to you in a little town called Gooderham...I was first steered towards Pentax by my favorite camera store...James Pauk Photography in Orillia. They only pushed Pentax to me pointing out their build materials and ease of menu. I had a customer that was involved in Pentax Canada and he hooked me up with a refurbished K10d which just amazed me. I have since moved up to a K3ii having missed out on buying the K5ii new...the used ones were almost the price of the new K3's. I wanted the 16mp over the 24mp but had left it too long.
I too find it easier to deal online though it is nice to hold something in your hand first. Living in cottage country makes for extra driving. I seem to be the only Pentax user in our club in Haliburton with no intentions of changing. If you have any service issues check with the store in Orillia or contact me as I still have my Pentax contact and his voice can still be heard

the M135 is a great lens and I only stopped using mine when I replaced it with the K135...I`m keeping the M135 just for the filter size

very cool Stephen...what ISO did you use and does the cooled K10 reduce the noise quite nicely...I use the K10 at 800...going to upgrade to the K5 eventually but you`ve given me an idea for the K10...again ...beautiful capture

I was told in the summer there was a 24mp camera coming in about 6 months...he told me then that they were going to re-release the K-5 with some changes, so far that was true

what sold me was the compatibility with older lens...I already had a couple of K mount lense and a big adapt-all lens that was easily converted. My former camera store had steered me toward pentax but it was a surprise meeting (through work) with someone involved with pentax that became my "poor man" `s way in... a good deal on a K10d. The K10 just blew me away, and still does. I was leaning toward a rebel for astrophotography for its lower noise but a K5 will be in the future. A camera has to go everywhere I go and be able to handle all conditions and my pentax certainly does it. I love the old manual primes pentax has and they fit my budget....no intentions of changing systems at all
