So ixnay on putting the 283 on a k5. When using it with a remote (using a Flashwave II), wouls it burn out the remote also, or are they safe to use as is, without modifications?

Actually, Dave Busch DID do a book on a Pentax - the K200d ( I have it). And yes, VERY informative; way better than the manual.

When I need to be rid of the noise at higher ISO settings, Lightroom 3 ( and Photoshop CS5) work miracles! Both programs have come miles to rectify this problem.

I also was on the Annual Photowalk 2011 (Nanaimo), and of about 25 photographers, I was the only one with a pentax (k7). Didnt bother me in the least. I LOVE my camera - the way it feels in my hands, the way you can use any pentax lens - old or new, and even being part of an "elite" group. Have a loy of money invested in my system, and wouldnt trade my pentax gear for anything!

Which Pentax Lenses work with my Pentax (K-r, K-5 K-x & any other Pentax SLR)?

Also the 70mm limited works on film cameras. I used it on my MZ-6 slr, and had fantastic pics from it - razor sharp. Have noticed it does under expose by one stop though - not a huge dael.

Thank you, one and all for getting back to me with your answers.
Will try it out, and see where it takes me.
(p.s. - the thought of shaving my lens kind of makes me queasy!! lol)

Hello out there,
I have a 10-17mm DA fish-eye lens, and am wondering if it is compatable with a MZ-6 film camera. I dont want to mount the two together, and then find out that something went horribly wrong. Has anyone out there had any success with this?
Thanks
Dave

I live in Nanaimo, and I too was sickened by the mass destruction.
But very heart-warming to see all the people pitching in to help clean it up.
And your pictures showing this.....WOW!
You are a fantastic photographer - I would LOVE to take pics like this.
VERY cool!

k7 and firmware -LV acting up

Hi,
Just updated my k7 with the latest firmware ( I'm a few behind), and know I notice when I focus with live view, the screen goes blank for about 1-2 seconds, then shows two green boxes ( I assume that is your focus points). Does anyone else have this? If so, is there a way to get rid of it? I use a lot of tak manual lens, and the blank then on screen is driving me nuts.
Any advice is appreciated.

Thanks

I really like your photos, whether they convey a message or not. When I look at them, I smile and think "ok, how did he do the lighting, who came up with the poses - you or the models. #2 reminds me of something "gangsta".......but the chair woud have to go! lol
All in all, its fun to look at your pics - they make me smile.
Good job

I totally agree with loveisageless's point # 6. Sarcasm and ridicule IS counterproductive.
A lot of us (mostly newbies) come on this site for information, about anything and everything to do with either Pentax itself, or photography in general.
While some of the questions might seem a little silly/stupid to some, we are asking for the knowledge that others have, not to be bashed eight ways from Sunday.
For the most part, this IS an excellent site for info.
I just think some of the people on this forum like to mix it up, just for the fun of it, to see what reaction they can get.
(somewhat akin to a Jerry Springer Pentax slugfest!) lol

"I just shot my whole arguement right to hell"??????
In which way?
Doing photography IS very enjoyable to me.
I would imagine it is to...oh, I dont know....EVERYONE on this forum?
If it wasn't, why the hell do it?
And did I ONCE say I was trying to make a living out of it????
I like the artistic expression I receive, when getting that great shot, then enhancing it in Lightroom.
I love the creativity.
It is fun, enjoyable, peaceful.
