Without bothering to get into detail, due to circumstances outside of my control I now find myself VERY much in debt and having to sell off many of my favorite hobbies entirely.
I almost was going to sell my camera stuff but then I realized something.
Photography is cheap.
I sold off all my film stuff years ago because it WASN'T cheap to use and required you to keep up with it regularly so stuff didn't expire.
I used to shoot digital almost every day and often all day on weekends, but then I sorta lost interest and stopped entirely. Mostly due to life giving me no time for anything and other hobbies cutting into that time. Which was sorta ironic since I had waited more than a decade for Pentax to release a FF DSLR and I had finally bought one (when the last of the K-1 were clearanced out) with a good zoom as well.
Another irony is not long ago before I got hit with the debt I just happened to pick up the camera which still only has a shutter count of 170 after having it for years and discovered the playback button didn't work despite never having been abused. $500 later I had it fixed and back in hand.
But now I'm glad I did fix it and I kept that stuff because now most of the other hobbies are being liquidated, but there's my Pentax, ready to play.
I would love to have a better zoom for long range (see signature), but I make due with the one I have and just use care in avoiding water since its a non WR lens.
But really I have everything I need for a hobby that costs me nothing to do at a time when that's right in my price range.
I'm glad I bought a good body and really good short zoom back when I did have money, but if a person were poor they could get an old K-5II or later and an 18-135 lens and do some really amazing photo work without feeling short changed by the gear. When you are poor, digital photography becomes the perfect hobby to have.
I managed to find $20 to support the site as well since after years of barely checking in, I think I'll be around a bit more often now.

Night photo, abandoned cattle barn area of an old early 1900s ranch on a beautiful Mojave evening. This was photographed near a full winter moon, one of my favorite times for night photography. I love it nice and cool with a longer night for photography. I lit the smokestack, exterior, and interior of the structure with a handheld ProtoMachines LED2 light painting device during the exposure. This trip, I met up with Tony Donofrio for a two-night trip filled with a lot of fun and good food. Thanks!!

Thank you kindly. I've had similar when flying over the pacific at night and agree it is a very humbling experience. There was a fishing boat moving along the water that caused the horizon light. I did not see it until near the end of the exposures.

Here's an attempt at a composite shot of the moon from my yard last week, long exposure for the trees and shorter for the moon. It's not as easy as I thought it would be to do the masking. Taken with my SMC A 400 and K1.
And here's a similar shot from this summer, not a composite. This one was taken with my Tamron 500mm mirror lens and K3.

It's still all about the puppy for the most part.
Today in the woods,
K-3 and DA 18-135.
It never matters what else I try, this is the convenient lens for walks. I need the 135 end, so cancel the DA 16-85. Honest, it's just too short. I tried. I like the high frame rate, cancel the K-1.

The vet told us to limit his walks to 2km until he's 10 months... the path we named "the new road" has been renamed "the Puppy Path" because it's 2.17 Km. This just off the side. 2021-11-03-dogs-forest-walk-4 by Norm Head, on Flickr

By now you're wondering, when will we get puppy images? Well OK then. 2021-11-03-dogs-forest-walk-3 by Norm Head, on Flickr 2021-11-03-dogs-forest-wak-2 by Norm Head, on Flickr

He's starting to lengthen out a bit. We're thinking he could grow as big as 60 pounds. He's more than a third of the way there, after 15 weeks. Even though we were looking for smaller, it's quite possible he'll be our biggest since Pearl, the 100 pound American Bull Dog. ---------- Post added 11-03-21 at 05:52 PM ----------
I looks like lot's of walking and not much botany. :D

A couple of images taken with the 18-135 during a walk on the Waddensea, a mudflat tidal area to the north of the Netherlands. Given that we were sloshing over very slippery silt and clay, the 18-135 WR was the only viable option.
