I think you'd be able to do it by yourself. There is a guy who is periodically refurbish LS30 and LS2000 and resell it with warranty. Even if it got broken, you probably can get a refurbished and sell the broken ones as parts through ebay.

Below is the link from that guy. You are quite safe with LS30 and LS2000 :).

Yes, my local walmart has fujifilm 200/400 not sure if it is Superia. B&H and adorama both have the superia and kodak KGD 200/400 as well. Seems I should have a lot more supply currently. I love the shutter sound from film cameras.

Ok, I'll swallow the cost and wave my hands up with tears

Frankly speaking, this happened too fast to me. I originally thought only medium format guy will get hit but it seems everyone and everywhere.

I can agree that $6.00 seems not that bad currently but using film is becoming an expensive hobby. I'll keep shooting films until my local costco stop providing cheap developing service. I'll keep this film camera as a sentimental thing.

I just grabbed a mint nikon n90s for $30. I thought it is a amazing price. So I put a nikkor 55mm micro on it and tried a Ilford HP5 400 B&W film. When I went to a local lab, they charged me $6 for developing. I feel shocked but no choice. I am planning to use costco for color film processing. I don't want to develop by myself even though I was doing that for quite some years when I was young :). What do you guys do? Do you think use 135mm films for leisure are gone?

B&H still sells fujifim 200/400 and Kodak KGD 200/400 for around $2.50 per roll. Are they good enough based on your experiences?

Sb-28 has TTL, Manual and A mode. When you set it in A mode, you set the aperture and then set your camera with the same aperture and same ISO as your flash. I think that's all you need to do. You can manually adjust ISO or aperture to compensate just like with a manual film camera.

Item for Sale
Canon T1i, A16NII,

Asking Price
$250 USD

Item Location
San Jose (United States)

Item Description
Hi,

They are used but all in nice working condition. I didn't have enough time and skill to show you the best of my stuff but in fact you just need to pick them up and shoot.

SOLD $220 - Canon T1i with canon 18-55 IS Kit lens and charger with 2 canon batteries. There is a dust spot at the center top right. You can see it from some of the sample pictures. This can be fixed by Canon's spot removal software. I don't know how it works but Canon claim it can be removed. Hopefully you won't be scared by it? For $220, what can you get wrong? :) In order to get pictures that I like. I use the following step and setting to get the sample pictures. Use raw, use lightroom 3.2 with lens profile correction, 50 sharpness high and 20 noise reuction, perspective control for buildings, and use Canon DPP to adjust sharpness and saturation. Seems a little bit complicated, but it works for me.

Interesting enough. Here is another option result from my internet search. Not sure if it makes sense to you. Convert the medium frame pentax lenses.

Yellowstone in July 2013

I was there several years ago in July on a car trip. We spend several days there. I don't think 55-300mm is quite useful. I brought a 70-200mm with me but use most of the 18-55mm kit lens. The only time I might need a big zoom is at a time there was a mother bear with 2 babies that was walking deep down a valley. Zoom lens can only seem a tiny spot. Only the people who had binocular can see them. So I'd guess 18-135mm would be an optimal setup for yellowstone. Now I have two f2.8 zooms but for the sake of running around kids I normally only have enough time to use the 18-50mm f2.8.

K7 High ISO is really that bad?

Congratulations! I like K-x more than K-7. I'd guess K-r or K-30 will be good enough. I always use second hand high end bodies and very happy because I can try and sell it without breaking my bank account like new full priced bodies.

Manual lenses on pentax is still not that enjoyable with M and m42 lens by the green button for me. And good "A" prime lenses are so expensive to get. I recently tried Nikon and very happy with the manual focus lenses. It has aperture feeler so that many nikkor Ai, Ais lenses can be used and metered in A mode directly. I feel that's a true compatibility unlike the pentax-m lenses' mediocre solution.

My 2 cents,

I don't feel it the same way based on the online samples. I saw lots of wonderful pictures PS from LX3/LX5. The original pictures from LX7 seems very pale to me. $249 for LX5 is still a good deal to me. My mom should be happy when she get the camera. Last year I bought a Nikon P7000 at $229 for my father in law. Anyway your cyber monday special information just make my heart beat go back to normal :).

Vivitar 283 and 285 are great flashes to replace your Yongnuo. They are really old but ridiculous good. They are single contact that will likely works with K-5. It works with canon DSLR. They also have several aperture for auto mode. They can be cheaply acquired on eaby.

Thanks for the kindly help. I am working with 2 people at the same time. The not paying person even promise to pay no later than Monday. I checked I can request to cancel it after 4 days. I think I'm going to do this in today's afternoon since that will be way over 1 week. For the not shipping seller, I'd wait one more day to 4 days and file a cancellation request. He might think his buy it now option is too cheap or just went to holiday without paying any attention.

I don't have many transactions on ebay. Total about 20. I had both bad and good experiences. While this might just be the reality. I tried to be as honest and as responsive as I can. Sometime you feel really blue when other people don't always do the same thing to you on ebay, especially during the holidays.

So far my buy/sell experience at our forum is good!

I ordered a LX5 at $249 for my mom from B&H but now I found LX7 is on sale at amazon for $299. I check the sample pictures online and I don't see LX7 is better. LX5 will arrive on 3rd Dec. Should I return the LX5 and get the LX7? What's your opinion? For some reason I prefer the CCD sensor. Weird maybe :).

Have you ever met ebay "not paying buyer" and "not shipping seller" at the same time

I bought with "buy it now option" and that "not paying buyer" won the starting bid. Both of them do not reply to emails now. That buyer even promise to pay by Monday which is more than a week. The "buy it now" seller has no response. I send them final emails a moment ago and I'm going to cancel both of them tomorrow. I wish I can get my holiday back! It's sentimental now.

Any good suggestions?
:)

So you want it to be Pentax only :) :)

But I found, sometimes, you can find the best deal of CNSO here. Like the Canon 300D for $100. I don't see any pentax DSLR had this type of price for the market.

Anyway majority of them are pentax stuff.

I have Tamron 17-50mm f2.8 and I found that the tamron has blurry on the top left corner and edges with aperture bigger than f4. So it can be a problem for somebody. For 50mm, I think pentax-A 50mm f1.7 is the best value followed by the pentax-M 50mm f2 for exposure point of view. For 50mm AF lens, the F/FA 50mm 1.7 is unrealistic high. I'd choose DA 50mm 1.8 over it. Anyway, better to stick with pentax brand lenses cause the characteristic of green will be the same for pentax brand lenses. That's one of the important reason for many people to use pentax lenses.

I'm a cheap hunter anyway :).

I still like pentax cameras and I still have one pentax AF film body and a kit lens with it. I just don't want to see it's behind. Pentax SLR was the first serious camera I bought when my salary was only around $50 a month :).

I believe in myself and that's why I can still waste lots of money without going to bankruptcy. It's a hobby with good/bad self control :). A product's overall quality is a system level thing. The whole system usability for each individual is the key for each of us to determine. For a company the statistics results of our final choices determines the product. You can think about this as setup the bait and use a net to capture fish. Your bait should be attractive to as many as possible fishes that you'd like to catch.

Well, that's my personal opinion and it works very well for my hobby.
