That is good news on my opinion. They might finally take it seriously.

I think it is something about difference in intensity between some pixels producing white dots and general signal. In some bodies this difference is smaller than in other resulting in normal behavior and sensors producing white dots.
Just my thoughts.

Oh, I do not think that people make a jokes on others. It is just different level of acceptance of the situation. This community is really great and helpful.
It is Pentax responsibility as a company is the problem but not the community here.
Anyway I am not loosing hope that the issue will be recognized by Ricoh and fixed.

Pentax specs for Pentax branded Tamron lenses...do they make a difference?

I spoke to Tamrom representatives recently in local camera fair. He said that Tamrom is making some of the Pentax lenses and also craft/carve the lenses (glasses) for Pentax. Not sure how true it is but he was speaking very confidently.
He also said that Tamron had a lens roadmap in which only some lenses will be in K mount when others are not planned to be released for Pentax - this is what we already know. But he said that it was a strategical decision made by Tamrom several years ago and they will stick to it for some time for now, unfortunately.

Me too, actually.
So, than it is "normal" phenotype, not that just few bodies are "problematic".
Looks like situation is common thus I will keep my K-1 and wait if there will be any fix from Ricoh.

I started this thread because I did some star trails with long exposure noise reduction off and results were quite bad.
Just wanted to know how many cameras behave the same way as mine.

Yes, I agree that most probably I will use such setting not so often. I do IR sometimes (with on lens filters) and night photography, so these might be the cases. For birds (that I do most often) this is not a problem.

And it looks like there might be fix already as stated in another thread. So, I will talk to my dealer on Monday and will ask him to contact Ricoh Germany. Also planning to ask about this situation on Photokina.

Thank you very much everyone for participating in this discussion and helping me to figure out what to do.
You are really great community and I enjoy being a part of it.
Best regards,
Yuriy

Ricoh in Saarland and Pentax K1

Hello,
Just want to share my story from last Saturday.
I am living in an non-existing city. For some reasons even many German do not know that this city is part of Germany. Several time I was asked "where is it?" by Germans. Despite the fact that Saarbrucken is a capital of land (smallest in Germany).
Anyway, I was walking this Saturday in the local shopping center and passed by the camera store, that I have never seen Pentax stuff there. I already passed the place when noticed the table and person next to it in blue-red t-shirt with big letters RICOH. I went back and found all Pentax gear on that table including K-70, K-1, 150-450, 70-200, 28-105, 24-70 and many more. I had a great conversation with the Ricoh representative. The store will now carry Pentax gear and will be official distributor in Saalrand.
I was so excited to see Pentax in Saabrucken that I ended with buying Pentax K-1 from the store. I wa planning to do it anyway but a bit later. It was very spontaneous decision.
I am really happy I went to the city on Saturday.
Ricoh is building a distribution network and it is great to know. That also mean that they will build/ are building service network as well. They just need time.
Regards,
Yuriy

Lack of cameras - buy abroad? Warranties?

Just called to Pentax Germany. They say that the EU warranty is actual for the country of purchase, so if you buy in Germany it will be covered only in Germany. But, you can ask for international warranty card from the dealer before placing the order and dealer will/can contact Ricoh and ask for the international warranty card to be included in the purchase.

Second for DA 55-300. Had DAL version of this lens and was truly amazed.
Also keep in mind that AF mots probably will not work on 18-135 with TC.
Best regards,

Yes, Boris, You are right. It is not rikenon.
I think it might be kalimar mc 50/1.7 auto. The distance scale look very similar. Plus the focusing ring rotation is in the same direction.

Sorry, did not notice that you are talking about red K-r. Have not seen the red combo. Sorry.
Regarding the DA L and DA lenses – optically they should be the same I think. DA comes with hoods and metal ring on a mount.
Hope you will find a solution that will suite you.
Sincerely,
Yuriy
