I have a K5, the autofocus is crap both in comparison to my wife's D7000 and just trying to use it in the conditions I need it.
I have, and so I do. Claiming that valid criticism of your favored system must be based on ignorance just because it is critical of your favorite system is the sign of a fanboy, not an objective observer.
You think Canon is a "primarily photo oriented company"? Out of the three dslr makers with the largest market share, only one is primarily a photo company.

I love my K5. I do, and I wouldn't switch for the world. But it is annoying when it hunts for focus in low light settings, and my wife's D7000 (with comparable fast fifty) does not. :/ I intend to get a better focus screen and a eyepiece magnifier and go MF so it's somewhat less of an issue, but I do wish Pentax would steal some Canon or Nikon engineers who developed their AF systems and shock the world with a K3 that is a class leader in AF ability.

I found this appropriate. My wife and I are both enthusiasts, her with a Nikon me with my Pentax. We recently decided to upgrade from our older bodies, so I got a K-5 and she got a D7000.
Use what you like, use what's comfortable for you, use what best suits your purpose. Leave the wailing and gnashing of teeth over "This guy thinks my stuff isn't as good as his!" to people who are so emotionally stunted as to derive their sense of self worth from the things they own. Take beautiful pictures, enjoy your gear, and ignore the foolish.
