Whenever on a wander, always seem to encounter a church that is worth an attempt at capturing the architecture, style and history.
Have seen a few great shots here browsing through the threads, but the only thread that have found with the topic is a weekly challenge back in 2007. So, thought would start thread with a church theme. Not necessarily just a picture of church as seen when passing by, but as creative as one cares to be of any aspect.
Here's one from one of my wanderings to start things off.
A 12th (as best as have determined) Century Byzantine church.
K100D + Kit Lens @ 18mm
ISO 200: 1/350 sec @ f11 Attachment 51218
Post processing included a 'free-hand transform' where have tried to reduce the distortion on the separate belfry.

You pay for a five star lunch for four and become shocked enough to exclaim 'i could have made a down payment on a Pentax flash cord with that!'

Thanks all for getting this thread under way so quickly.
Seems my use of the word church did sound restricting. Not meant. The thread is intended to hold theme in the broader architectural and historical sense, where images of temples and other places of worship, dedication, ceremony etc from all societies are all in topic.
Got this shot back in May 2007 K100D + Kit Lens @18mm ISO 200: 1/90 sec @ f22 Attachment 51300 |

Blimey! So many great shots.
WiseOx, Your shot is also one of my favourites in this thread.
RBellavance, A great bunch, specially IMHO #4 Saint-Eustache.
This was a sneak-out during the night hours attempt at getting a shot that didn't include an obscuring crowd. K100D + Kit Lens @ 24mm ISO 200: 30 sec @ f27 Attachment 51535 |

bbluesman, your part of the world looks wonderful.
Thanks all for sharing these great shots. Keep 'em coming.
Found one of rural England, am sure others will have some far better images. K100D + Kit Lens @ 55mm ISO 400: 1/60 @ f22 Attachment 51421 |

Filter Wallet. The sleeved fold-out flat type. Lightweight and saves space.
Edit:
Forgot to mention the super-cheap lens-cap-keepers (the elasticated type that goes around the lens with a thread that sticks to the front of the lens-cap). Suggest you buy them a handful at a time, as the postage is more expensive than the item.

That's why i never use a blower in the camera body (anymore) - from experience; got the same problem within a few weeks of buying my first Pentax DSLR. Very annoying.
Remedy:
Scarey process; Got a watch screwdriver to ease the focusing glass out. Cleaned it with a Pec-Pad and some Eclipse fluid.
