My friend has a old K mount 50mm F1.2, I like its performance. but NOT sure if it may sit on K-X dslr, I have not had any pentax body, neither my friend.

So my question is

1) will K-X or K-7 work well with this lens?
2) will any of body have focus indicator showing correctly focused for this lens?

Thanks.

What about the IQ comparison between DA16-50 at 40mm or DA40?Both of them are same F2.8,which one is better? ignoring their price, weight and build quality factor. Thanks.

K7+FA35 or DA*55 VS KX+DA 40

Hello, I am at a dilemma between K-7 + FA 35mm F2(or even DA * 55mm F1.4) and K-X + DA 40mm F2.8. The reason behind is that K-7 obviously has worse performance at higher ISO, especially ISO 1600 and above. for same light situation and shooting object, I would like to give K-7 more larger F stops to keep shooted at lower ISO.

I am satisfied with K-X but dislike it has less features and body build. K-7 has better advanced body build and features.

If I go with K-7 and larger F stops, on another side, I am worried about DOF is too shallow.

I currently don't own any of them, I want to know, if I am happy with a photo shot by K-X combo at ISO 6400, can I get same shoot with the K-7 combo at ISO 1600? FA 35 or DA* 55? Although they will have different DOF.

can anybody help me out? Thanks in advance.

I am sorry for it, because I have not familar with forum category, I will follow them for next post.

The only thing I like D700 is its fastest auto focus speed. but I dislike

1) too heavy to hold for long time, especially for my family, they want a lighter gear.
2) post-production, yes, it will produce better pic but it takes much time, I don't like to do much post production job on street/pet/casual photography that mostly are just for fun. That's why I want to join Pentax.

k-x DA40mm indoor cat shoot?

I am new to Pentax and heard lot of good things on k-x. I am wondering if any of you have experience on indoor cat shoot? I have a grey cat and would like to get k-x to shoot him. Previously I used D700 and 50MM F1.4, the auto focus was great but I really don't like the default awb of jpg. I googled lots and found k-x has great performance on high ISO as well. I know the auto fucus may NOT be fast as D700, but I could bear it if it is reasonable fast.

My question then goes to DA40 F2.8, it is enough for indoor shoot working with ISO1600 or even 3200 on K-X? DA*55 F1.4 is another choice for me, however, I heard it is far slower than DA 40. I'd appreciate any helpful advice. Thanks in advance.
