I cant say that I would even come close to considering those lenses, they are not the best lenses available and thats what the system comparison should be.
The reason I choose those lenses are because they are 2.8, not just for DOF but also ability to focus under lower light and Also they are weatherproof and fair comparison between 16-50 and 50-135, there are no equivelant to the 14-24 nikon but the 12-24 is close.
The 5D is not weather resistant which is the main reason you would not include it.
Legacy lenses are pointless too. If you are after a cheap FF and want to stick legacy lenses on the FF then your missing the point why people currently migrate to FF.
They want to get a better camera kit which is why they consider it an upgrade to a professional model and lenses to match.
Pentax now has a great solution for an upgrade path that didnt exist before in the 645D and I still consider it a fantasic option. I had a 67 and can see real merit in this option. Hopefully glass will go on sale sooner rather than later.

Hi Falconeye,
I would say, that if you buy a full frame then you would eat your words. :)
Here are two kits, virtually same lens line up with FOV and best quality level available.
Prices are AUD
Pentax K20D $1200
DA12-24 F4 $1000
DA*16-50 F2.8 $1200
DA*50-135 F2.8 $1500
Nikon D700 $3400
14-24 F2.8 $2000
24-70 F2.8 $2000
70-200 VR2 $3000
They were the best prices I could find at the time I bought 2yrs ago for the K20D and 6months ago for the D700.
And you dont get SR on 2 of the FF lenses.
Whats cheap about FF ?

Hi Falconeye,
To the best of my experience, nikon glass is nothing to write home about.
If people want/need pro glass then DA* lenses have better IQ, limited are better as well.
I have some of nikons finest (so people tell me), which are better made than the DA* but I can't say the IQ is as good. The only let down is CA on the 16-50 and apart from that BOKEH is soo much better in pentax lenses.
DOF is not that much of deal on FF, Large VF on FF maybe better but not on a par with film VF IMO either.
Size and weight are a whole different issue depending on what you want.
....and then theres the expense !
So WHAT ARE the REAL advantages of FF......

I think the other area that is unanswered still for me, is how good is the flash ?
High iso is great, AF from what i hear is great, so it remains to be seen how good the flash works with the camera.
I have the D700 and K20D and will upgrade to K5 for the first two alone, but the flash would be a killer.

Hi Adam,
I dont think it makes tooo much difference the amount of points.
Most use centre point but those who do shoot sport might have wanted more, but if it works whether that because its fast ,predictive or both, only time will tell.
IF the K-5 is the same leap above the K-7 as the K10 was to the K20 then it WILL be a great little camera.
Surely they must need some real world testers in Australia :) ok i'll put my hand up....just for the good of the people of course !!

HI Pcarfan,
You also have to mention the nikon CLS as well. That was one thing that got me once I had the D700, flash just worked so easily and everytime.
AF may come close, really the K7 wasnt that far away from the D700 except predictive AF and low low light.
DOF field can be good and bad too. FF makes macros a little harder by narrowing DOF when really I wish it were more, so thats a plus for APSC
Then theres the crop factor, long lenses especially, you get free mm and again thats a plus.
I really hope it will come close, cant wait for some REAL testing.

HAs anyone tried buying one from Pentax, it is still a currently available item !!
Also the beauty of the adapter is that you keep Aperture but of cause you loose autofocus, because there are no 67 AF lenses anyhow.
The adapter is worth it as 67 lenses are far more available than 645 lenses and cheaper too. Size..... not that much bigger and most are primes !! Did I mention cheap, like most are $200~
I got my 7 lenses for $1500, tell me that is not worth it !!! and 3 were new....

Hi GingeM,
Firstly, you can take chargers, there is power everywhere, just get a battery charger on ebay that takes 240vac. You may not find good quality batteries so easy to come by.
Secondly, lenses will have limited range due to haze. The air is thick and limiting for long distance shots.
Low light stuff is prolific. Higher iso's and tripods rule ! After dark in China is amazing. Use higher iso if u can hand hold and tripods elsewhere.
Heres some of the things you can expect -
And here is an indication of smog, it can start to impact in less than 100mtrs
Enjoy your trip it is a stunning place to visit and the food is excellent.
Cheers

Hi ,
Generally the best method is Portrait shots, it gives higher pixels for one but also the stitching should be better as the smaller the width per frame the better it should stitch, although the programs do a pretty good job.
Great photo, would be lovely to see in larger resolution too.
Cheers

One of the reasons i use them is at some FL they work out a little cheaper if you dont need autofocus. Focus confirm blip still work too.
300mm F4 in 67 is around $300 and it is well sharp and heavy, which at that FL stops vibration a bit too.
Of course I have a 67ii so it makes sense to use a lens you already have !!

Hi Ife,
That last one is a cracker !
I think the funniest moment of the event was when they were all standing there and i was wondering what they were waiting for.
Then down the street came a guy with massive DJ rig on wheels playing the start to Michael Jacksons thriller.
It was like, YEP, if youre gonna have a zombie shuffle, you gonna have that song !!! PMSLMAO
Well done Carl for organising it.
