I don't remember this happening on my Metz 58-AF1 (Although it has died, so I cannot check) and my Sigma Flash has no problem zooming to 105mm when using my 50-500mm. ?

Thanks, yeah that likely makes sense, although I notice Nikon DF and D5300 have already been added for example, so I guess it's just the truly lacking abilities of Flickr and Yahoo, which doesn't surprise me these days.

So I have noticed a few weird things with Flickr and the Pentax K-3.

Like the camera doesn't seem to show up under Ricoh or Pentax in the Camera Finder?.

Flickr: Camera Finder: Pentax

Flickr: Camera Finder: Ricoh

And today they have updated the Flickr Exif Info, and have new images and pictures for various parts of the EXIF, and Unlike the K-7 or Canon DSLR's, The K-3 icon of the camera looks very different and looks like a compact camera icon, although It is listed as Ricoh IMAGING COMPANY, LTD. Pentax K-3.

Has anyone else noticed or have any ideas on what and why Flickr have done to bastardize the K-3?

Can anyone tell me the size of the software on the card?

And if someone who has one could zip up the software contents and put it online, I would surely love to try and tinker with it.

Cheers.....

The FA77 was super impressive for the action shots with the K-3 AF @ 5fps (M) it got every car in focus, for the whole course, I didn't do anything except press the button.. ;)

They were selling T-Shirts with 'Bogan and Proud Of It" as well... ;)

It was taken from Summernats 27 in Canberra which was on from the 2nd to 6th of January, these were from the Grass Driving Events.

"Standard Adobe" has been added, it's a shame however that "Camera Standard" hasn't also been made an addition, as that profile is usually the best one of the three for my K-7, and I used it 80+% of the time.

The K-3 is available locally from most retailers for $1295 with Flucard, so you don't need to pay $1399.

If so do a full reset in the menus.

This was problem with K-7 and K-5 where having a battery in say the body would empty overnight, even when turned off.... Doing a full reset of all functions, previously fixed this issue.

I agree the Info screen change is damn annoying, it adds unneeded complexity and isn't intuitive compared the original method... (Like on my K-7).

I also dislike the dedicated movie switch, replacing the metering switch.... It's just a backwards step, I change metering 3 or 4 times per day, and use video never. Now I have to fiddle with buttons, dials and look at a screen every time I adjust the metering.... Mind boggling backwards step IMO.

The K-3 is also slower to turn on and respond than my K-7..... If I turn the switch to on, I can press the 'Play" button to bring up the last image for review on my K-7 instantly. The K-3 I press the play button 3 or 4 times and eventually I get the image on screen, it's 2 seconds at least less responsive on startup. After 4 years of having that speed, it's quite annoying difference in reaction to have to wait and press the button 4 times.

I'm not totally convinced by the White Balance and Metering as yet, it's fine most of the time, but I have been able to confuse it a few times too.

Those are my minor niggles so far for what is otherwise an amazing camera.

K-3 Silver - New Item Available for Pre-Order @ B&H?

I'm fairly sure it was mentioned that B&H were being cautious not to over sell their Silver model K-3s...

It was thought that there would be a few spare after the initial batch had shipped, obviously they still have some for allocation.

That's correct.

Heheh, Being in the prototype stage, I guess that's understandable and the WiFi at trade shows is often very troublesome, so they can be forgiven for that too... But I do hope that when it's out of prototype stage and released it works well enough to warrant another $100 :)

I guess we will have to wait until Feb/March to know more.
