Hi Aegon... Great Question. That's the question I debated for couple months. The Sony Alpha I have is few years old, and is not the fastest autofocusing camera. Also, I read a comparison of A700 and Pentax K7 and looks like K7 was superior than A700. My glass collection for Alpha was minimal, so I thought I should switch.
Now you got me thinking again....Hmmm

Thanks for all your comments & suggestions! Yes, I meant 55-135 f/2.8 lens not the 55-300mm. Unfortunately, my budget doesn't allow prime lenses at this moment, although would add 50 mm (either Sigma or Pentax).

Hi all,
I learned a lot going through all the threads, but still need help. I will be receiving Pentax K7 tomorrow and need to purchase lenses.
I found a lightly used Pentax 55-130 lens, that I will most likely purchase or should I go for Tamron 70-200. I also can't decide whether I should purchase a Pentax 16-45 or a new Tamron 17-50 mm. Usually, I shoot my kids, parties and their recitals (piano, dance and violin) -no sports.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
ps:I have seen similar threads, but didn't find one specifically for Pentax K7...again not sure if the camera makes a difference. Thanks!
