HUGE THANKS my friend!
"Athene noctua" is one of the most lovely birds for me! I really missed to see them during warm summer nights on the roofs down there! Also calls of Otus scops...
Warmest greetings to lovely Grece! BEST!

Thank you very much my friend! :)
I catch this beauty quite close to my home where I live in Sweden, Linköping. Every year or every 2nd year they come and visit us early spring and stay for a while depending on rodent population around the lake (Lake Roxen). They are not so common, last two years for example not so many people could get a chance to see or photograph them in the same area. (I encountered once. Have some shots but not BIF.)
I never use a hide because I don't like to be nailed/caged on a point somewhere in field. I need to be able to move, especially when I take BIF shots. So I don't use a tripod either such times. I have various camouflage clothes like ghillie suits etc. (Nowadays I use those microlight 3D leaf camouflage suits [Realtree Max camo products], gloves, head mask etc. and I found much much more comfortable than a ghillie.)
Cheers!

Gallinula chloropus (common moorhen) (also known as the waterhen and as the swamp chicken) is a bird species in the family Rallidae. It is distributed across many parts of the Old World.
The common moorhen lives around well-vegetated marshes, ponds, canals and other wetlands. The species is not found in the polar regions or many tropical rainforests. Elsewhere it is likely the most common rail species, except for the Eurasian coot in some regions.
The closely related common gallinule of the New World has been recognized as a separate species by most authorities, starting with the American Ornithologists' Union and the International Ornithological Committee in 2011.
Best Regards.

Hi Eric! Thank you very much! Glad to hear that you liked it! :)
I've actually kept the EXIF information for such reason, but can write too. :)
450mm, F7.1, 1/2000, ISO-500, -0.7; and the weather condition was just great, no wind, no humidity, no evaporation from water surface; and of course best light in the day, which I usually take my photos. It gives warm/yellowish dramatic light effect which is my best choice! I don’t use a sturdy tripod or something like that, because I don’t like carry so much stuff together with me in the field. For high shutter speed there is no need too.
I can share some more closest shoot/s of this beauty. It came “close enough” to me approx. 2-3m. :) So I can say it is quite possible with a 70-200mm lens IMO or can be even better with 1.4 TC.
Best!
PS: I was forgot to write about crop. Yeah, it has crop but not more than APS-C size in the camera. ---------- Post added 19th Sep 2016 at 16:50 ----------
Thank you very much dear Steve! :) ---------- Post added 19th Sep 2016 at 17:03 ---------- This is the IMGP0006 numbered photo which I have taken with my new K-1. :)
I have spent almost two weeks to get this photo of little shy cuty. |

Is it possible to do a new improved something like "Active SR System"; complete automatic body controlled (or with an option "Auto" and "Manuel" user modded; also twice input options for zoom lenses like "x mm - y mm")? Then the user doesn't need to choose again and again also not to be confused about the ranges. If the system recognizes the lens' ID 100%, why should user have to choose the range? Also for zoom lenses; can't device adjust every ranges, automatically?

Thank you ghl!
I think, should explain this photograph;
This is a bit special capture because a real hard to take shot; you can’t take any single photo of this kind old man (/men), easily. I was lucky to take all of them in a different characteristic face and posing because they had not seen me and my camera; otherwise I could not have done it.
I was gone there for a tourist visit with a crowded group. I have seen them before leaving the bus and just ran out for take this photo, when we arrived an old historical place. I was hid myself in group and they were just looking us (the huge visitor group) for understanding the activity of that visit. I took only one exact photo and couldn't get a second one. Because they just turned the faces to another point and started to talk each other in a second.
Last thing; I wanted to add some feels like historical, dusty and old fashion; that's why I applicated a pale-sepia with a bit noise and less contrast scene on the export from directly RAW file.
I have plenty ultra-sharp and detailed wildlife photos but this is a special for me because I know, I can get animal pictures in any way; I just need to find some good moment and places for them. It’s not hard like this. I caught three difficult old, traditional model in one frame with three different characteristic positions! That’s why I chosen this “special photo” as a best of mine. :)
Thanks!

There isn't any enhancements -like stabilizing etc.- and taken without SR. Of course the quality has fallen down to web conditions after upload.
Please watch on YouTube for 1080p HD mode!
