Nicely done!! I've spent a lot of time along the high line in Montana. The Sweet Grass Hills area is a favorite.

Lovely view. It is doing the same thing in Montana yesterday and today, but the brown to white cycle is getting a little depressing for me.

They are really not the "Corduroy Hills", but they (center left of frame) look like a heap of old corduroys to me. I suppose I am dating myself, but... Attachment 266156
And, getting closer, they still look like corduroys to me. Attachment 266157 |

Nice shot! And ditto what Bob said. I've got huge golden willows around the house and they shed like the dog in the wind.

I agree, Bob. But I lived in Montana for 35 years before I came to the SW portion and I can't believe what I'd missed all those years.
I like the salt water, too. The crowds around it, however, are too much for me on a long term basis. Basically, I'm a hermit.
Actually, it's HD cable.
Just from the end of the driveway to the house.
I totally agree, but most of the tourists never venture out on back roads. And as a result, they never know what they've missed.
Don't give up. Maybe someday....
I'm very lucky to have been here since 1974. And even luckier to have been able to stay here after retirement.

I agree. And it truly was the last shot. The dreaded aperature drive failure. All following shots were black. Replaced with K-3.

Thanks!! I'm retired but got recruited for a job that had settings like this on the daily commute. Easy decision for me.

Thanks!
Glad you like it. The snow lasted a couple of hours and then back to brown.
If I had my way, that Jeep would be in all my photos.:)
Thanks!! Now if I could only find a publisher.

I'm sorry. But maybe you'll get to come back! I'm really lucky to have been able to retire in Dillon.
I do more 4-wheeling in the winter than I want. But the rest of the year it's mostly on the little dotted trails on Forest Service and BLM maps. And, yes, 4wd is often required to get to the most interesting places. But I don't go bashing about like a lot of the guys that are much younger than me.:)

Driving back from a job up the second worst road (trail?) in America. Is it Machinery or Landscape? Beats me, but I couldn't pass it up. Attachment 263022 |

Thanks to all for the kind comments. Ground clearance is what keeps a lot of vehicles off these "roads" which are simply little dotted lines on a map. The Jeep was sort of clean because this was the start of the adventure. It wasn't clean at the end. And I agree, the landscapes are special from the more remote locations. I say remote, but these two shots were within 20 miles of home. I'll be out most weekends and the terrain will start to get greener. Should be more to come.

I got recruited out of retirement to help my son finish a ranch house in the mountains. The last seven miles of road is a challenge.....but the view on the way home is probably worth it.
Just leaving the ranch and then four miles from the highway:
