Well, considering it is in relation to buying and selling to which I will be doing if I can figure out the value of the lens then, I don't know that it's inappropriate.

SLC Hangs on Pop Photo and never seemed sleezy to me... Also, Adobe allows reselling of all their products with a transfer of license paper signed by the original owner (can be downloaded from Adobe's website) so give the guy a break he's just trying to sell something he doesn't need.

If I had the money I would be very interested but I don't so good luck with the sale.

Pentax 16-45 & FA 75-300 zooms. Recommended?

I looked at the 70 - 300 from Pentax as well as the 70 - 300 from Sigma and Tamron. For me, the money and quality were the biggest factors and I ended up grabbing a used Tamron for $125 as the image quality was similar to the Sigma and better than the Pentax.

This was taken at 300mm with a Samsung GX-10 (Same as a K10D) and Tamron 70 - 300 Di LD

Why do you need to get a hold of the importers? My USA Purchased GX-10 came with an international warranty the K10D might actually be the same.

K10D whitebalance question

Actually, Gray cards were developed for Exposure but it really doesn't matter if you use Gray or White. All that really matters is that the RGB values are identical in each color channel because that is what balances the color temp... Everything else is shifted based on this reading.

I've used both Kodak Gray Cards and plain ole white printer paper to which both performed admirably (of course the white card required the +2.0 EV adjustment to get the exposure correct while setting the white balance) under pretty much any condition.

One company out there (whibal) seperates the two but I would be real interested in getting some of the numbers from skin tones in their images; yes their images look good to the eye but do they stand up to the info test?

K10D whitebalance question

It does favor shadows, about 1/3 of a stop.

If you're going to set your white balance from a white card you need to dial in +2 EV and make sure the white card is slightly angled towards the light source while filling the frame.

Me personally, I take a picture of the white object with proper exposure and then make a custom XMF file for Adobe Camera Raw so I can use that light source again on future files.

Test Results: K10D SR Superior - Even Compared to Some In-Lens IS Systems
Posted By pmperry

Yeah but interestingly enough the K10D / GX-10 is the only IS enabled body, that I know of, in which you can choose the focal length of the stabilisation system which is huge if you ask me because one thing Canon was very right about, "It takes more IS for a longer lens than it does for a shorter lens".

Oh and if you've ever turned the dust cleaning device on you can hear the SR mechanism jolt and to me it seems to move more than the IS elements in my old 70 - 200 F/2.8 IS L USM ever did. So, with that said I can't imagine the K10D being any worse than the competition out to 400mm.

Consistent underexposure on K10D

True, it could, and if you read DPReview they note that the Canon's are actually ISO 125 for 100 and they're pretty much like this through the whole range.

Anyway, even a 3rd of a stop wouldn't make up for a whole stop so the images should look 2/3 underexposed. I think it's a mixture of both issues where Canon has their ISO tuned wrong and their dedicated metering modes aren't dedicated at all but rather just a stronger bias.
