SMC K 85mm f1.8 + K-5iis.
I'm struggling with this lens, never encountered this degree of difficulty before. Not sure what the problem is but I'll keep on working with it until I figure it out.

I haven't had time to test and compare my latest acquisitions, the FA 77/1.8 and K 85/1.8, due to family responsibilities. I decided today was the day to take a few (and I do mean only a few) minutes to take several quick shots to see how they perform and see the difference in results. The following are not at all artistic and sooc. To say I was surprised at the results is an understatement.
The first photo is from the FA77, shot at f1.8. The second, third and fourth are from the K 85, shot at f1.8, f2.8 and f4. All were taken handheld from approximately 10 feet from the bicycle.

I've been experimenting with B&W and the presets in ON1 Photo. I liked the glow in the flower on the left and the general overall look of this photo. What do you think? Any and all comments would be appreciated.

You're missing the extra, extra wide 2.5mm f.85 and the super long 2749mm f3 lenses.
How can you call yourself a real photographer without these standard lenses?

For several decades my kit was comprised of 4 lenses, as follows: K 30/2.8, M 50/1.7, Sigma 135/2.8, and Vivitar 90-180/4.5 macro. When I traveled, I took all four lenses along with my KX film body. While the Vivitar is rather large and hefty, I found it indispensable for longer tele and macro shots. In fact, it almost got me shot by a Mexican soldier while I was trying to get a picture of El Presidente's yacht cruising off the coast of Ixtapa.
Today, I'd take a 20-40 Limited, Sigma 70/2.8 macro, 135/2.8 and DA 300/4. I just fell I'll always have a need for a macro and the extra reach of a long tele lens. Then again, that's just me.

A package fell off the postal delivery truck this week and it rolled up to my door. It contained a K 85mm 1.8, a lens I've long lusted after. I thought I was done with LBA and could control myself but I succumbed. When I saw it on Ebay at a very attractive price, I t set a bid expecting to be overtaken in the closing . It's going to talk some time to learn the subtleties but it looks to be everything I expected and more.
