If it's the Yongnuo range then they're very good (IMO) but they are fully manual-only... The Sigma's I believe use P-TTL which might suit your needs more...
I work in a theatre and if you used flash during a performance you would be asked to leave...

Looking in the secondhand window of Bradford's last camera shop (happens to be a Pentax Pro Centre) I got chatting to an older lady with a K-r... She'd not realised she could use the lenses she had previously used on her old Pentax-MG... She left smiling and excited!

Cheers Lloydy... It is indeed the Chinese stuff but by far the cheepest 35mm film currently available from UK suppliers... Might be worth a punt...

I'm sorry I've got no fixes in the short term but it sounds like the K-01 would be a much better camera for you in the long-term mate...

Wow. Thought there'd be more response than this tbh...
Looks like I'll go for the Ektar 100 then ... Still have a fair amount of 1600-fuji-superior but still no clue if there's a B&W I can get that can be processed at my local printshop except Ilford-XP2...

I shoot film sporadically and have normally used either Fuji Superior 200/400 (and some 1600 which I still have a stockpile of) or Ilford XP2 400 (B&W - C41 cos I can't do my own developing)
I'm running low on stock and fancy a change...
I'm thinking Kodak Ektar 100 as a colour option but would like a few suggestions of other films I can buy in bulk (25 to 50ish rolls) at a decent price... (?)
Black and white options would need to be C41 so I can get processed which I assume leaves me with very little options... (?)

This doesn't mean that anything FF is remotely on its way to market... At the very least it's just one of several prototypes given to a select few to gain feedback on several designs/configurations, which is a sensible move for any manufacturer and has probably happened several times over the last few years already...

I sold the Tamron 17-50mm 2.8 as it was just too big for a walkaround for my taste, preferring to carry the FA35 attached and one or two (read 3 or 4...) other primes in the bag... It's a great lens, don't get me wrong but a 49mm filter thread is much less intimidating to most people and I tend to get better shots partly (I believe) because of this using my FA-primes than I did with the 17-50...

Perhaps a heavyweight ND filter might be of use in this situation... Set your shot up, set it off and then chat to somebody while the exposure is going off... If it's long enough anybody who moves will vanish from the picture... You get to take your time while being sneaky...
A card given to the owner with a promise to give send copies of the pictures you take might sweeten them a little too...

So, is the 21 any good for environmental portraiture? I sometimes find my FA35 a little tight (our house is small) and the FA28 is only good with people if you're right on top of them in my experience... Plus I often find my 28 'not quite wide enough' and resort to the kit-18-55 (I have the Vivitar 19mm f3.8 but find the kit offers at least equal IQ) as 28 and 35 are pretty close in terms of FoV... I like the FoV of the Vivitar-19 but the IQ although not bad ain't top notch...

Agree... Wholeheartedly...
But if you're determined...
This should be the only way you (with your stated experience) get into it... You (currently) have the potential to ruin some poor girls big day and I really, truly hope you can't live with that.

Do any of you have both these lenses?
Just wondering how they compare...
I have the DA50-200WR and my stepson has the FA80-200... I personally think the DA50-200 is a better lens than the FA80-200...
Keep seeing the F70-210 going cheap and wondered if it would be an upgrade in terms of IQ...

This sounds like a fairly good idea as long as you can separate your judgement of specific lenses in terms of both image quality AND focal length...
You may have a 28 or 50 with awful image quality but don't discount the usefullness of the focal length...
Experiment - Play - Enjoy!! :D

I have a few primes: The ones that are always in my bag (I have a shelf as well) are the FA28, FA35, FA50 & D-FA100... I could survive without the 28 and 50... The FA35 is my most used lens by far...

With the closure of Jessops here in the UK there is now only one camera shop in the city centre (Bradford) and it's a Pentax pro dealer... Despite the shop not having a website (I KNOW!!!) they're selling 3 to 4 new Pentax DSLRs a week (K-30 is their big draw) plus a healthy secondhand window and decent printing (where I suspect the make the most of their income)
