I'm using the Q7. So I'm asking about live view focus assist that zooms in the live view, and the particular context of C-mount lenses used with an adapter.

Is it me or zoom focus assist is only available with Pentax lenses? What the point of focus assistance with lenses that already autofocus and no assistance with actual manual focus lenses?
Seems totally backward.

My point is that none of those guys could displace the µ43 group or sony who are the early comers and are taking up all the sales. None of them could do something differently enough that warrants a change of mount, except fuji maybe who's really different, as the GXR could have been but saddly ricoh dropped the whole thing.

The market has no place for another mirrorless APS-c mount. Samsung has been going at it for years and they're not making a dent. We haven't heard from the Ricoh GXR in a year. Canon mirrorless was a half-assed effort. Nikon has a small sensor with a body bigger than µ43. Fuji is doing alright because it has its niche, but they'll alienate everyone when they go fullframe and their current mount is too small for it. Pentax is WAY WAY late to that party. Not only is the market saturated, internally Pentax is overstretching itself with wierd products that appeals to nobody in particular.
MX-1 is a piece of junk, just another small sensor point and shoot that appeals to nobody but nostalgic pentaxians. And even then, they dissapoint! It's not by slapping the name of a legendary camera on a point and shoot that they're gonna fool this customer base.

People can dream on with the LX sized FF DSLR. My olympus EP-3 is roughly as big as my pentax MX, and that's with a µ4/3 sensor and no mirror or pentaprism!

Oh please. People pixel peep on film too. They can enlarge it big like a wall if they want. I've done it.

I know! That's what i'm saying.
Even so, theoretically speaking, it doesn't HAVE to shorten the registry distance. There are adaptors for FD to EF-mount and FD is a shorter mount than EF! If you ad glass in your adaptor, anything goes. You could have an adaptor that reduces the image circle while adapting a K-mount to a K-mount.
But nobody's gonna make that.
Anyways just give me my fullframe already.

FF K-mount is the same mount as APS-C K-mount. So the registry distance difference would be zero. So... i'm under the impression that you think these two K-mounts have different registry distance... Which would make you wrong, in a different subject altogether.
I don't think anybody was implying metabones was going to make a speedbooster that will adapt FF K-mount lenses to APS-C K-mount lenses.
As for me, i've jumped ship already 6-months ago... to µ4/3. And this is welcomed news for me! f0.75 here i come!

I've said this many times before. M-mount is stupid, and i can't emphasize that enough. M-mount is - litterally - a dumb mount. It is no better than NEX E-mount + adaptor, for example. If it's a dumb mount, why adopt it as native? You might as well start from scratch, make the flange focal distance the shortest in the industry and make adaptors for everything available, including M-mount, then add electronic contacts for lenses native to the next mount. You lose NOTHING. And then think of everything the M-mount cannot adapt. Contax G, contax / kiev / nikon RF mount, other esoteric rangefinder mounts.
And lets reserve this as a GXR mountor. That would have potential.

If you look at the digital backs from leaf, phase one or hasselblad they are still as big as film magazines. The space where the film used to be might still be fully used for the electronics. It is true the 645d is long, but it's not a larger area than the back of an FF camera. In fact, just eyeballing this, i think it's smaller. So it's gonna stay pretty much the same like that. Of course i could be wrong, and if they made the 645 shorter i wouldn't complain.

The K to F mount adapter contains glass that will degrade image quality. F mount has a longer flange to focal length.

I don't think 39 is possible with that long a tail the z1-p is leaving. I'm gonna set it to rewind completely, lets see if they will shoot the first early frames too.

Like the title says. Last roll i shot it stopped advancing after 36. but when i had it rewound (with the option of leaving the tail partially out) it left a really long tail that was even still wound around the right post.

Overcast, snow, and slide film. That's gonna be blue for sure.
Skylight is classic for snow. I wouldn't try 81B, it will make your snow a wierd pink. Very difficult to get it just right with film, so i'd rather do less and have some blue which is expected in snow, than have an overall normal scene but with pink snow.

No. I said the K-mount was designed for FF. It wasn't designed for 120. APS-c K-mount is a stop gap solution, because its using a mount designed for FF.
Worst still, the K-01 is APS-c using an FF mount, AND it's using a mount designed for a reflex.
And yes, using the FF logic, the 645 mount was designed for 6x4.5 but the 645D is using a crop sensor and i demand FF 645 for that mount also.
µ4/3 is perfectly fine in my book.

The thing is, APS-c was a stop-gap solution until FF could be practically possible. The lenses, the flange focal distance, the size of the mirror box and the size of the mount was all designed to accomodate FF. If APS-c was the way to go, we should abolish all these backward parameters. Yet we do not.
If pentax isn't going to come out with FF but still use K-mount, then i would rather jump ship to µ4/3 where everything was designed from the ground up with that size in mind.
