I have the FA 24-90 and is a great lens. The build quality is very poor though, but the IQ will more than compensate for its poor build.

Am I missing something with the price of DA 40 these days? Couple of years back, it was hard to score one for less than 275$. These days, I routinely see them sell around the 200 - 225$ mark. I do not know if it is the effect of HD 40 or the impending FF!

Seriously, this is great news. I recently returned to India after spending considerable time in US. I could appreciate how difficult it is to source Pentax gear in India. If they price it right and market well, Pentax could take off. IMHO, they should not release any SDM lenses till they establish themselves. The Indian market may be very unforgiving to SDM failures :)

I think it is the same optical forumal as the sigma 24 f2.8 manual lens. Please correct me if I am wrong. 215$ shipped. I could throw the filter for additional 15$.
