Bump.
Lots of interest from people but no firm offer yet. Still available. I'd love to sell it before Christmas - and I'm sure you'd love to have this amazing lens in your hands before then too!

Ireland is part of the EU - so there would be no customs/duties for other EU countries. This means this lens is perfect for any buyers in Europe.

Some interest but the lens is still available.
Note that the Mack warranty is fully transferable at a cost of US$20 - but I can give you a copy of the original sales receipt and the Mack warranty contract number, and then you can choose to transfer the warranty if the lens ever develops a fault (that way you're only paying the US$20 if you actually need to use the warranty).

I'm surprised too!
Perhaps indicative of how small the market for Pentax is in Europe? If I was still in Australia, I think this would be long gone!

I have found the paperwork for the 3 YEAR PRO LENS WARRANTY from Mack Worldwide Warranty purchased for this lens - doesn't expire until 31st March 2014 - so this has more warranty coverage than a new lens! |

Price lowered.
My K-30 has now arrived - it's a good little camera but definitely feels less solid than the K-5 and the missing extra controls and top LCD are annoying, but my wife has already used the K-30 a few times so that's a win!
Now need the K-5 sold!

PentaxForums.com Marketplace Listing Item for Sale
SMC Pentax DA* 60-250mm f4 ED (IF) SDM lens Asking Price
€849 Item Location
Mayo, Republic of Ireland Item Description
This lens is highly rated and highly sought after – and for good reason. It is a gem, offering weather sealing to compliment the weather sealing on your K20D, K-7, K-5 or K-30 and allow you to get out there and shoot even when the weather’s not being kind.
It’s range of 60-250mm is excellent for sports and nature photography, as is its speed (f4 throughout the zoom range) and autofocus ability (it boasts the super fast and super quiet SDM). Obviously the most important future is its superb image quality! No wonder its average user rating is 9.74 out of 10! SMC Pentax-DA* 60-250mm F4 ED [IF] SDM Reviews - DA Zoom Lenses - Pentax Lens Reviews & Lens Database
The only reason I am selling this lens is because I don’t use it – it has only been used a dozen times since I bought it (having 3 children aged under 4 means I mostly use my shorter lenses for portraits – it’s a big lens to carry when there’s usually a child in one arm!).
This is a sharp, clean, excellent “as new” copy with no autofocus issues. It includes the rear cap, lens cap, hood and tripod collar. A 3 YEAR PRO LENS WARRANTY from Mack Worldwide Warranty was purchased when I bought this, and doesn't expire until 31st March 2014 - so this has more warranty coverage than a new lens! PentaxForums.com Marketplace Listing Item for Sale
Pentax K-5 Asking Price
€599 Item Location
Mayo (Ireland) Item Description
Pentax’s flagship model, with a feature set that matches its far more expensive competitors - including brilliant high ISO performance and magnesium weather-sealed body – all at a ridiculously affordable price!
This camera has a manufacture date of January 2011 and its shutter count is still under 5800 actuations. It’s only a baby! And it has been treated as one – always handled with care and in excellent condition. This camera has two extras:
- Custom Split Image focus screen installed: The K3 Focusing Screen (AF Frame/Grid) cost over $100 and is a fantastic help in more accurate manual focussing while having no effect on autofocus or exposure. Focusing Screen
- Spare Battery (i.e. total of 2 batteries). Both batteries are genuine Pentax D-LI90.
Includes UK/Ireland charger, PC cable, new Pentax shoulder strap and body cap. No paperwork or box (I left these in Australia when we moved to Ireland last year).
Only reason for sale is I have made the downgrade to the K-30 as this will better suit my wife sharing the camera with me (due to the K-30 being a bit smaller/lighter). Are you the original owner of the item being sold?
Yes Are you selling or trading this item?

The tower is an old shot tower built in 1888. It has been retained as a a centre-piece for the shopping centre, with a large glass cone (20 storeys high) encasing it.
I'm only selling the lens becasue I need to reduce my kit size, and the 43mm is too close in focal length so I'll rely on that instead.

Yeah, sorry. It seems there is a much better supply of lenses for North Americans, so i thought I'd give Aussies first bite at this. Happy to send to New Zealand too for a bit extra shipping if any Kiwis are interested.
Will entertain offers from other countries if you are willing to pay the higher shipping costs involved.

Sigma HSM 50-150mm f2.8, Voigtlander Ultron 40mm f2, Vivitar S1 105mm f2.5, Pentax DA 35mm f2.4, Tamron Velocity 8x bag Asking Price

Sydney, Australia Item Description Sigma 50-150mm f2.8 II APO EX DC lens in Pentax mount – AU$699 + $20 shipping ***SOLD*** Review: Sigma 50-150mm f/2.8 II EX DC APO HSM Lens Reviews - Pentax Third-Party Lens Review Database
This is a fantastic alternative to the DA* 50-135mm for those who don’t want to run the SDM gauntlet! Its HSM is fast, smooth, quiet and accurate. Image quality is fantastic, even at f2.8 and it has better corner sharpness than the DA*. The lens has just got back from CR Kennedy where it received a full service (it was a bit stiff to zoom, but is now perfect). This lens is no longer in production, so grab one while you can! Lens is in 9.5/10 condition – only issue is a scratched lens cap (as pictured). Includes caps, hood, padded case, straps, box and paperwork. Cost over $900 locally.
================================================================================================== Kenko 1.5x Pz AF 1.5x teleconverter for Pentax – AU$119 + $15 shipping ***SOLD***
Recently purchased as “new old stock” – hardly used, flawless condition. This TC was purchased to partner with my Sigma 50-150mm – and I found it to work well with the HSM autofocus. Also tested with my new DA* 60-250mm and DA* 16-50mm and it works fine with the SDM on both these lenses. Only selling it because the purchase of my 60-250 makes it redundant for me – 250mm is long enough for my needs. Includes caps, protective pouch, box and paperwork. I paid US$169 shipped.
================================================================================================== Vivitar Series 1 105mm f2.5 macro lens in Pentax mount – AU$419 + $15 shipping ***SOLD*** Review: Vivitar Series 1 105mm f2.5 Macro Lens Reviews - Pentax Third-Party Lens Review Database
Legendary 1:1 macro lens which is tack sharp, renders beautifully and produces beautiful bokeh and colours. Equally useful as a portrait lens. The build quality of this lens makes it a pleasure to use. This copy is sharp, clean and in fantastic condition. Includes original lens cap and protective case. Only selling because of need to free up some finances.
================================================================================================== Voigtlander Ultron 40mm f2.0 lens in Pentax mount - AU$399 + $15 shipping ***Still available, new thread started*** Review: Voigtlander 40mm F/2 Ultron SLII Lens Reviews - Pentax Third-Party Lens Review Database
This lens rivals the more expensive limited 43mm in every way – ergonomics, build quality, sharpness, rendering and bokeh. Like the 43mm, it is also has a slim form factor. Only draw back is manual focus – though you really should be using MF most of the time when shooting below f2.8 anyway in my opinion (so go get yourself s split screen!). This beauty comes with the full size screw on lens cap, as well as the small hood and pinch cap. It also includes a genuine voigtlander close-up lens which was made to screw onto the front. Like new condition, no box or papers.
================================================================================================== Pentax DA 35mm f2.4 AL - AU$209 + $15 shipping ***Still available, new thread started*** Review: SMC Pentax-DA 35mm F2.4 AL Reviews - Pentax Lens Reviews & Pentax Lens Database
This new "plastic fantastic" lens is one of the best bang-for-buck lenses I have ever used. Read some reviews from anyone who has used one, and you will see I am not alone in this opinion. Like new condition. Includes 3rd party front and rear caps, box and paperwork, and bonus B+W UV-Haze filter for free. 35mm is just a bit too close to my 43mm, which I'm holding on to. Sells for $280 locally.
================================================================================================== Tamrac Velocity 8x Pro Sling Bag - AU$49 + $10 shipping ***Still available, new thread started***
Similar to the Lowepro Slingshot series, but better ergonomics in my opinion. This was bought for $100 locally (at Digital Camera Warehouse). My poor product shots don’t really show how good this bag is. Look here for a better overview: Tamrac - Model 5768 Velocity 8x The bag is in excellent condition – no stains or damage to material, zips or buckles. Great bag for when you want easy access to your camera, and to also carry a couple of lenses with you.

Forum: Pentax K-5 & K-5 II

It wasn't just that there was old stock in retail stores - it was that retailers continued to receive new stock from CRK - so obviously CRK were getting stock in - its just that they chose to allocate it to new customers (via retailers) rather than fulfilling warranty obligations.
In my own dealings, it was CRK who fobbed me off and gave me the run around, while my retailer was pro-active in trying to help and did what I asked them to - so while your experience may suggest this is not the norm, my own experience suggests it was the case here.

Finally a good resolution to my K-5 warranty wait - the retailer were happy to oblige and allocate one fo their bodies to me and get the credit from CRK. They even called me as soon as the stock arrived.
Have tested it, and the new body is flawless. Now to go take some photos!

I think it's more a case of small retailer being bullied by big distributor, because they were initially happy to do a swap, but then were told not to by CRK.
CRK have now agreed to issue the retailer a credit if they provide me with a replacment body (which should have been the agreement from day one!), so I have politely insisted that the retailer do this or I will be asking for a full refund and take it up with the fair trading office if need be. Fingers crossed it is sorted by Friday - 4 weeks after I dropped my camera in to CRK!

CR Kennedy advised the retailer that CRK needed to have their technician confirm the fault before issuing a replacement - so I was supposedly saving time by going directly to CRK. Supposedly!

I just heard from CR Kennedy this afternoon, only to be told that after 25 days, NO PROGRESS has been made on the warranty service for my stained sensor K-5. They still have my faulty K-5 and have offered to send it back to me to keep using until they get a replacemnt one in – couldn't they have said this BEFORE taking my camera and storing it for 25 days, causing me to miss lots of photo ops (including a friend's wedding)!
They claim there is a shortage of K-5's at the moment – yet somehow retailers continue to get stock in, and the retailer I purchased my body from has told me that more K-5's are arriving from CR Kennedy this Thursday.
In other words, they have stock for new customers, but apparently don't have any when it comes to fulfilling their warranty obligations for existing customers.
Not happy.

The catch is that the retailer will want to send it to CRK to test it and verify faults - so while you may technically be able to demand a refund or replacement on the spot, the reality is that it might be a bit harder to get them to do it.
