the 21 is definitely my most used lens, favorite among the DA limiteds. I like the 40 I have as well but I don't find the focal length as useful.

Wow, is the k5/40 kit for real? Looks awesome but I already have a k5 and da 40 :). Way to kill k-01 sales though.

I just bought a k5 and am (probably) keeping my kx, so that's plenty for me. If the fuji x100 was interchangeable I'd give it a good looking over.

I went through Henry's and got their last one during their sale, wanted the 2 year canadian warranty from them. Good deal for those in the US or who missed it.

I couldn't afford FF, but it definitely seems like the demand is there. At least pentax seems to be listening to its supporters, I hope it happens someday!

The 21 is definitely the better choice for people photography I think. Plus it's slightly faster (3.2 vs 4), is smaller (only a bit longer than the 40 without hood), somewhat cheaper I think and has an awesome hood. I don't know though, I'm clearly biased and haven't used a 15.

Well, I suppose that's true. My most expensive lens is an fa 77 so I guess I still haven't passed the $1k barrier. I'm insured for my gear so I shouldn't have concerns about using stuff anyways. You're absolutely right.

I don't live in a bad area, it's just my own personal hangup that would stop me from packing a lens that costs so much. I would just be afraid of damaging it/losing it. It's silly I know.

I'll second the DA 21. It has hardly left my camera since I bought mine. I think if I had too choose between my FA 50 and DA40 I'd go with the latter due to the shorter focal length and solid metal construction vs plastic. I like the low light capability but I could live without it if I had to.

The DA 21 is the lens that spends the most time on my camera but the 40 was my first prime. I wouldn't buy the FA 31 due to its price and to a lesser extent, size. I'd be too scared to take it anywhere, being so expensive. I have a 77 and have the same problem with that, so I only pack it for special occasions.

I walked into my local camera store a few months ago when I bought a flash and decided to fawn over the k5. I took out my kx and held them next to each other, and their dimensions are very similar. But man, as soon as I picked up the k5 I immediately appreciated the difference. I just ordered one myself, hopefully I'll get it this week.

No PST buying from Henry's was a big incentive for me, ended up only being $50 with free canada post shipping. Couldn't resist, can't wait to get it!

Yeah, I slept on it and ordered the k5 just now. Going to keep the kx as a second body so I don't need to change lenses as much at gigs/events, it's still a great backup camera. I'll just sell other things to pay for the k-5.

Well I'm about to cave, henry's has it for $999 right now... Only question is if I should sell my kx or not as I don't really have the money for a k5 right now and need to sell some things to finance it. I think I will, though mainly having prime lenses a second body would be handy.

Everyone knows those who have negative experiences with any kind of product will always be the most vocal of consumers. Though I don't own a k-5, I'm inclined to believe the stellar reviews about it and dismiss a lot of the complaints.

I love my white kx, and I can also attest to it being a great ice breaker / conversation piece! If I had the choice of olive I'd have gone for that as my style is usually a bit more subtle and it would match my domke bag, but man, the white kx is just awesome looking.

I could not go anywhere without my 21. The 40 is great though because you can bring it anywhere regardless of your need of it.

- Better AF
- Same kind of body/layout as K5
- AF and manual settings in video mode, 1080p 24fps h.264, not stupid mjpeg
- dual sd card slots if room allows for it, otherwise keep the size down
- 24mp sensor, iso 25 and even better high iso performance
That's pretty much it, I love the k5 but my kx is doing a great job for me so ill wait.

Hmm, I think I might grab a Hadley myself someday. Would love to fit my big headphones into my camera bag, never gonna happen in my F5XB.
