Perhaps it's not my best picture but it is THAT one... The one you can't forget how you took it, when you took it; the one that settles the begining of a new stage. In my case, confirmed my choice of being photographer for a living was the path I wanted to walk.

I still can't see the difference between the K5II and K5IIs beside the AA Filterless Sensor... Or it's just that? And also, is that actually good? :P
I mean, it was there for a reason and it says that helps in lighting-controlled situations, how does it affects outdoor shooting?

The "Stock Photo" category are those with no PP? It's the first time i hear that category.
Well, IMO, you shouldn't be touched by what people say if you shoot as a hobby. YOU like the picture, YOU edited it as you wanted it. If you submit it somewhere for being critisized.. well be ready to have bad and good comments on it.
If you are working as a photographer and need to get shots as someone else wants it, it's a different thing.

How deep can you submerge a W90?

Well, being from Argentina makes thing difficult when talking about prices. EVERYTHING that involves technology costs the double if you live here.
I was looking for camera prices and looked for Canon or Nikon, i was in love with the D90 but it's way to expensive, i couldn't even think in the lenses. One day, my dad shows me an offer he found on PENTAX K-x; I investigated, compared, doubted, investigated more and finnaly decided. If i had to make take the same decision with enough money for the D90, I'd go for Pentax again: the posibility of using old lenses is great for my pocket mixed with the joy of having a DSLR with "Pentax" on it and it's priceless xD
Since i was a kid, I showed interest on photography and in my little word I knew Pentax was serious equipment but someday it simply dissapeared, I steped away from photography and when I headed back into that path only heard of Nikon and Canon (more than Olympus, Sony, etc), hearing Pentax again revived my childhood... at some point.
I only "know" one Pentaxian from Argentina and we met in this forum xD
Yes, as far as I concern, Pentax it's rare here. I'll tell you if there are any changes in the DSLR population, so far, Canikons :P
Last though: 2 days ago i was on a birthday, took my Pentax and started taking pictures, there was a pro photographer with a D7 (we didn't talked, i guess she didn't saw the brand), but the strange thing was that a relatively old man steped by my side looking straight to my camera while i talked to a cousin, read the model as i showed it to him and steped back nodding and smiling... I guess that was good xD

I've held a D70 and D80, they were confortable but had a strange feeling. I've got small hands and I must say the K-x size is perfect (not THAT perfect but a 99/100). As it's the first DSLR i own, the feelling and weight are still odd but they represent no problem.

It's a camera prepared to take photos, recording is just a plus for when you spot aliens or a hamster smoking.
I'll make a ... (which is the word in english for a few minutes film?) with the K-x in a few weeks. When finish i'll give you an example of the noise, i guess.

+1
Anyone who doesn't read the manuals should be punished (?)
[...]
The other thing is getting used to the ISO range in AUTO, i took few minutes of testing to get used to it.
Edit: Also, update the firmware, V 1.01 is available

Here's an example of what RioRico said. This is a Vivitar 50mm 1.9; in the aperture ring, oposite to the numbers, there is PK and a serial number engraved. As you can see in the second picture, is an M mount. |

Here are some examples of the fashion show i mentioned in 7th post:
As I said, first time "in action" with the K-x, in Tv and forgot to adjust ISO. They are all in 6400. Even though they have plenty of noise (i deactivated the NR for some reason), the colours look great for me.

So, my DA L 18-55 (which i think is exclusively prepared for DSRL and the focal length is that in the CMOS), in a analogue camera would work like a 1.5 times smaller focal length (i'm not saying i will do that, just an example), while a Vivitar 50mm 1.9 will behave as a (50 x 1.5) mm in a DSRL?
Right now i'm studying the whole. I'll do another career to focus on cinematography xD (and some courses on Photography as a hobby and reinforce some aspects of lighting). In a few years time you'll have an Argentinian Director of Photography that once asked about focal length in pentaxforums.com!!! xD

Hi all,
Well i know the differences between the film cameras and digital cameras but i still have some issues with the sensors...
First of all, i've already read and a friend explained the pros and cons of CMOS and CCD but i didn't ask about sizes and useful pixels. I mean, i get lost when i see charts and drawings of the different sensors, which are the useful areas and i definitely start to cry (not literaly) when i hear full frame.
After that, i start thinking how it may affect the sensor size with the focal length. I'm studying Filmmaking* so i understand that a lense with certain focal length behaves as a telephoto or wide angle depending when you change the film format. So, can anyone explain me what is the "1.5" (don't know if thats the correct number) difference of lenses when in digital photography?
*As some may know, i'm from Argentina. Don't really know if "Filmmaking" is the correct translation of the career i'm doing.
**Also, my sincere apologies with my English, i'm kinda rusty and it's quite hard when using technical words. If you see some TERRIBLE misspellings; please, let me know, i'll really apreciate the correction xD

The second day i had my camera on hands, a cousin asked me to take pictures in a fashion show. I had read the manual days before but i only had 1 day of practice with the K-x and was lost in the brand new world of DSRL.
The results were all pictures in ISO 6400 and blurry but with good colours. I've only noticed the problem when i zoomed in my computer and saw the noise.
Since then, ISO 800 is my limit, but there are always exceptions ._.

I updated de firmware and re-fell in love with the Cross Processing, this is what came out:
I'm still "shy" in taking pictures and have little experience in the image composition
