Any quirks using the scanner? I was thinking about getting a Pakon but the software issues scared me off. Is the DiMage a simple software download and you're good to go?

Great first shot. That store always has...interesting...advertising. The mid stride walk with the moving foot coming out blurry is an effect I like to use in a lot of my shots. It didn't work on this one because of her uh, leisurely, pace but it's the same store. This one is in San Francisco. |

Update on my infamous MX shutter ping. It's gone. Got the camera back from Eric today and it's music to my ears. I had him throw in a new focusing screen since mine had a small mark in the upper left corner. Now I have an MX I'm happy with and can sell off the rest of my SLRs.

Yeah I like the print size and with 6x7 negs, it must look really crisp.

Nice and dramatic Mike. Is that in the Bay? Never heard of it.
I found an expired roll of XP2 in my freezer. I haven't shot C41 B&W in a really long time so I figured the roll was kaput. Threw it in the Fuji GA645i and shot around the house. Goes to show how well freezing extends the life of the film. |

Great camera. I bought 3 and combined all the parts to make one working one. Rangefinder is too dim for precise work though.

Steve, you sound like a doctor!
My friend tested it out and he states the same thing. Either way it doesn't matter it's already packed up and ready to ship to Mr. Hendrickson.

My SRT201 doesn't ping at all. I really don't think my video correctly portrays the volume level of my MX ping. I'll try and source another way to record it. Re-starting the conversation is convincing me to send it back to Eric now. I wasn't planning on using it since I don't really have any lenses for it anymore. Plus I keep spending money on OMs and fixed lens rangefinders. ---------- Post added 03-09-14 at 07:09 PM ----------
It doesn't matter if a lens is mounted. When shooting, and my face is right next to the shutter, the volume is always the same.

Thanks for the offer. The 35mm 2.8 Zuiko I just bought off you is going to be my only purchase for a while now. Actually I'm trying to sell off my two OM2n bodies, an extra 28 3.5 and 100 2.8 to fund an OM4. I need the dioptric adjustment because I hate shooting with glasses on.
I posted videos after I got the MX back on page 11 of this thread. https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/8-pentax-film-slr-discussion/105296-penta...ickson-11.html ---------- Post added 03-08-14 at 06:34 PM ----------
Haha I liked this post. I really wish I could live with it but when my eye is up to the viewfinder ,and it pings, it's actually really uncomfortable to my ears. My Minolta XD5 has a quieter ping with a lower pitch and length. My ME Super is pretty quiet and my OMs are just plain beautiful (sounding..and looking).

I'm really particular about shutter noise. The MX is by far the worst. So much so that I haven't even bothered to put a roll through it, even after getting it worked over by Eric. Wish I would have known about it beforehand. I may end up sending it back to him but he seems to be quite busy these days. I don't mind a nice mechanical shutter, either. Hell, I shoot with a Kiev 60. But that ping is just downright nasty.

I'm eagerly awaiting my PK+MM. You say that the mount won't work on a Super Program, P3, etc, due to the stop down lever. I just removed the ring/lever from a junk P3 so it should theoretically work, correct? Have you tried to remove it? Of course, this does make the camera a little less useful for Pentax lenses but my intention is to use the OMs I already have.
The extra holes in the mount shouldn't be an issue with OM lenses because they don't have pins. In any case I don't think it would be difficult to fill the holes with solder.

My R09 had a bunch of crystals and crust in it after 5 months of non use. Was kept in the plastic bottle it came it. Just a heads up to use glass and/or get rid of the extra air in the bottle.

If you go through the chems quickly plastic is fine. I use green and brown glass bottles because I'm not shooting as much as I used to. The top seals and I drop in marbles to get rid of the air. I did this because my R09 crystalized.
Wine bottles work. I'm using my dads old lager bottles.

PM sent.
Zuiko.com states 8-10 weeks turn around. I recently had to wait 3 months for two cameras to show up. I don't know if I could wait that long. And his prices are pretty high.
Thats the thing. Eric does great work for, lets face it, next to nothing. Sometimes "you get what you pay for" is complete utter sh*t.

My MX that was worked over by Eric is still going strong but I don't use it as much as I should. Is there anyone who does Erics level of work on non Pentax bodies? My recently CLAed OM2n, Yashica 12, and Fujica V2 all have issues. CLAed by the same person too.

Yeah, these are last two digital lenses. Great pieces of glass but I've been shooting 100 percent film for the last two years.

He'll also do everything else he finds that isn't included in his initial invoice.
When I got my MX back he noted that he replaced the main circuit board because my LEDs were really weak. No extra charge.
