Hello everyone!

After a lot of searching through the forms and help from dflorez, UncleVanya, and whoever made the dropbox link I was able to convert my lens. I had a hard time understanding the process, but I finally figured it out. I decided something this complicated needs a video. In this video I converted the 50-135mm lens, but I understand the process is the same for the 16-50, 60-250, 200, and 300mm lenses. I hope this is helpful to you and Good Luck!

The video is here:

You Tube

Below you will see the process I followed. Again, I have the forums here to thank for giving me this information. I hope it helps you.

Alternative lens hood for DA21

This older thread might have some answers:
https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/10-pentax-slr-lens-discussion/135789-da-2...necessary.html

Basically, you can add a filter and then a step down ring on top of the filter. Just beware, if the step down ring gets too small, it can act as an aperture, essentially slowing down the lens. You would have to test it in Av mode at lowest f-number, to see if step down ring is too small (if it causes vignetting or makes the camera choose a longer exposure)
But you can use any 49mm screw-on hood. You probably want a wide angle one. You can find some really cheap on the ebays from China, but the shipping can be slow.

Camera bag for rides on horseback

How much stuff do you need to carry? And what weather do you expect? If riding in rain you'll need a fully waterproof solution. If riding in hot weather you'll want something small or mesh to let your body breath; big bags can get hot.

A convertible backpack/sling like the Lowepro Slingshots might work. I use one while bicycling. I keep the bag tightly on my back with the supplementary strap. It takes less than 5 seconds to unsnap the extra strap and rotate the bag for gear access. Horseback will have more bouncing around than bicycling but you can fill empty space around small lenses with spare clothing so they don't bounce in the bag. There's a pullout rain cover for unexpected rain but I wouldn't trust it in an all day downpour.

I do find it annoying to keep opening the bag to retrieve my camera. Moving the bag is fast, but unzipping and retrieving a DSLR gets tiresome especially for a fleeting photo opportunity that's gone. Every bag has that issue. I've looked at straps, harnesses, and technical vests but haven't found a better solution yet. Anything that straps the camera tight enough to my body to protect the camera from shaking (our upper bodies are pretty good shock absorbers if something is firmly attached) takes just as much time to unfasten as it does to open up a bag.

The best solution I found for a combined day of bicycling and photography is to keep a Ricoh GR in my shirt pocket. It's not WR but if it starts pouring I'm going to cut my bike trip short, anyway. If I need a full DSLR then I can keep that in the Lowepro Slingshot.

Exactly. And the photo will look different again on Internet Explorer. Don't worry about it though. 99% of people don't calibrate their monitors and you would be amazed at the odd color casts, contrast settings and brightness they consider normal. Basically, if it's on the web, your photo will look awful in lots of monitors. Grin and bear it.

Hello,

No, all items are shipped as they are from the manufacturer. We do not open and test gear before shipping.
